Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital

I got to the ER around 2pm on Saturday December 6th, got checked in and did vitals (person who did vitals was nice/nasty and asked for my approximate weight and then checked it anyways) Her mannerisms were disgusting and she should not be working with people/patients. People who were accepting the paperwork had terrible attitudes as well, snatched clipboards from several patients in the ER department for intake. I sat in the ER for about 30 minutes as other individuals were called before me when i was there first... which resulted in me sitting in the ER for 2 hours and 15 minutes before being taken back. They had several patients sitting in hallways on beds in severe pain. Most of these patients were people of color which was disheartening to see the discrimination. When I got into the room, it wasn't cleaned properly and the bed appeared to be used before me due to the nasty sheets. The nurse in the back who seen me initially to swab me for Covid, Flu & Strep was EXTREMELY rude and moving quickly without compassion, i asked her what her name was and she just walked out and ignored me, I was never able to get her name! She shoved the swab up my nose without any regard and didn't give me a warning. HER BEDSIDE MANNER WAS HORRIFIC! Although the doctor that helped me and treated me was very nice, compassionate and worked hard to find a temporary diagnosis for my symptoms. Overall, this hospital needs reinforcement on care, compassion & bedside mannerisms. People come to the hospital for immediate care and reform. Patients are coming in on their worst days and it would be nice to have healthcare professionals that actually care about helping people in a profession like this!!

Excellent hospital, always very clean, easy access to snacks and drinks while you wait for your loved one, very unique shops as well. I love that my family has the option to get procedures done here. Everyone is helpful and welcoming.

I want to give huge props and a shout out to the security department at the Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital for for compassion and willingness to help my daughter in love in super cold and freezing temps jump her car. Thank you officer Tom Gillespie for going above and beyond the call of duty.

My 2 favorite nurses were Erika on days and Pricella on afternoons in the A unit. Erika fought for me to stay an extra day because she could see that I wasn't ready ready to go home and she arranged transportation to get me home. The doctor that I han while I was in A unit was very nice. Mostly everyone was exceedingly nice. The ER doctor wasn't very nice but everyone else in the ER dept was great.

I took my mother to the ER Sunday evening. They quickly put her in a room with actual walls. I didn't even see a waiting room. The staff was great. They didn't order unnecessary tests and pinpointed exactly what they would do. The longest part was waiting for test results but they kept checking on her and making sure she was comfortable. After my bad experience tonight at HF in Rochester, I will drive out of my way to come here.
