I have been a patient here for over 10 years. Love my Dr and staff have always been wonderful. But the wait times are crazy. And getting worse every visit. Just can't do it anymore. If I can't find a Dr that I don't have to wait Hours to see I will try and find another Dr. And if there aren't and out their I accept I will now longer have a heart dr and live as long as I live. My husband just started seeing Dr. Shafiq. He's a wonderful cardiologist. Made suggestions for treatment & told us things we could do ourselves to help his medical situation. Everyone in the office was professional & caring. Rebecca was especially helpful in getting treatment for my husband's cholesterol. We really appreciate their kindness. We did end up waiting longer than normal the last time we were there but the manager came out to the waiting room & assisted in getting the patients in to see the doctors. It is a busy office so we understand that sometimes you may wait longer than usual. Seems like they are aware of it & are trying to remedy the situation.

Much like the other 1 & 2 star reviews listed below, I too have had long waits to see my doctor at Downriver Heart and Vascular. My latest appointment was for 01:15 and at 02:15, I inquired about how much longer it would be before I was called back. I was told I was next, much like the other stories below. When I was finally called back to the room, I was given a quick EKG and left for another 45 minutes. After an hour and 45 minutes I walked out. As I left, I walked right past my doctor and told him that I had been waiting for him for an hour and 45 minutes and that was just too long! No follow up call, nothing! Noone noticed or seemed to care. Dear Office Manager, YOUR OFFICE HAS A PROBLEM!!! Cardiac patients are walking out because of the excessive wait times!!! It is your job and responsibility to initiate change. This process is causing more issues by leaving aging people who are not well for long periods of time in the same room possibly SPREADING germs. I have a very good cardiac doctor there who is going to lose patients by being associated with Downriver Heart and Vascular's scheduling issues. Here is some wisdom for the patients who have decided to stay in this dysfunctional system. 1) Don't pay your co-pay until you are seen. This way you can walk out rather than some of these poor souls that waited 4-5 hours to get care. When the business cannot collect the co pay or charge our insurance company, they will consider putting the patients needs first. WE ARE THE CUSTOMER!!!! 2) Find a new doctor that values your time. 3) As the office manager, would you be as understanding if your patients showed up 1.5 to 4-5 hours late for thier appointments? If you read this review, please post the names of other good cardiologist in the area that are not part of Downriver Heart and Vascular, so the rest of us can start leaving in droves and get the care we are paying for. Ps, call you insurance company and complain about your experience with Downriver Heart and Vascular. Let's stand up together against these despicable scheduling practices against us patients especially the elderly.

I am sad to be writing this as I have been a patient for many years. My appointment time was 9:30am. 10:30am rolls around I went to the desk to let them know that I needed to reschedule as I am coming in after just working a 16 hour shift(3pm-7am) and have not slept yet and I have to work another 12 hour shift that night. I was told you are next to be called back, ok so I wait. About 5 more people were called back, here it is now 10:50am. An hour and 20 minutes from my appointment time, still not called back. So I up and left. I will be looking for another office to go to that will respect my time, I am a health care professional so I understand delays. This office needs to review their scheduling process and not over schedule, from reading other reviews this is an ongoing problem.
