my boyfriend was seen by this Dr after he had multiple collapsed lungs. he performed his surgery in Jan 2024. Since then, he has had two more hospital visits for holes in his lung again. After the surgery, there should have been no issues like this. He is rude, and not meant to be a doctor.

Dr. Sternberg is the worst doctor ever. His office staff was very unorganized. Went to several appointments, which were canceled, without our knowledge. Front office staff claimed we were the problem. When seen, he was almost 1 1/2 hour's late and said, " Sorry, didn't review your chart, I just got off the ski slopes." Was very condescending and rude. Looked over the CT scan and was told it was cancer but he couldn't operate. Was told we were in denial(husband and I) because my husband didn't feel sick. He referred us to Karmanos to have radiation. Was done with us. Didn't call to check on my husband or anything. If you want compassionate cancer treatment RUN away from this doctor because he has zero compassion. Would rather be skiing.

Dr. Sternberg Did surgery on my mother in March 2018. She was in the hospital for 15 days, 14 of those days were in intensive care. Dr. Sternberg spoke to us after her surgery and 1 other time during her stay at the hospital. Do not recommend Dr.Sternberg for anything, his bed side manner is horrible. Asked staff to let us know in advance of mother leaving hospital so family could visit rehabilitation centers for her. My dad was called on a Thursday night at 6pm to get a rehabilitation center set up as my mother was being released the next day Friday at noon by ambulance. In less than 24 hours my mother was diagnosed with C-Diff, dehydration and high white cell infection. Spent another 5 days in another hospital. Also a feeding tube was left in place during the 15 days and had to have feeding tube surgery put in stomach at other hospital. Dr. Sternberg never completed his care for this patient shifted care to others.

I do not recommend this man. Simply said, he treated my mother for Stage 3( became Stage 4, quickly) lung cancer in August of 2018. She passed away on Nov. 1, 2019. He visited her in hospice care, but called her by the wrong name, and didn't seem to care that he offended her. Today, his office sent my mother a letter, asking if she would like her medical records transferred to his new practice!!! He is a terrible doctor and his bedside manner is beyond horrible.

Promised cancer results in 48 hours. 5 days later after leaving 2 messages was given an appointment for 9 days later.
