Genuine disappointment. Waited 7+ hours with my pregnant fiance for them to place her in a "room" a set of curtains in between two extremely sick people, good thing she wasn't sick when we came in because now she will be! Called over 3 times on the call button and no response from a nurse. Oh and how could I forget they couldn't figure out how to put an IV in and her arm swelled with fluids. It's genuinely horrifying the fact that we have no second option in the case of emergency. Also blood on both sides of the floor in her "room"

Was in the ER for pancreatitis 2 months ago. I was given a 20 year out of date follow-up appointment referral. Went to the appointment, the office I was sent to was now Gynecology (I'm male) and the doctor hadn't worked there in decades (only one nurse remembered her.)
And now, just today, I had a psychiatric appointment I've been waiting months for through Trinity. I was told it was here in Muskegon, sent a map of a Muskegon location, but when I did the MyChart check-in before leaving for the appointment it said the appointment was in Grand Rapids (45 minutes+ away!) I had to reschedule (another 3 months away) and continue to go without my bipolar/schizophrenic medicine even longer because Trinity can't get their act together!!!
Their in-house pharmacy is even worse, if possible! They are always claiming their computers didn't get a prescription, or that it was already picked up (no it wasn't). I just switched pharmacy's because they are incompetent there, and I'm tired of going weeks without medications because they can't seem to manage their jobs. Never had any of these problems with Walmart pharmacy. You should be ashamed by that, DO BETTER! Avoid at all costs.
If I could avoid Trinity entirely I would, but they made sure there's no other options in town.

We stopped in for my wife, spent all day, saw no one, left and now she's heading to Corewell Health in Fremont for a check up. I wouldn't take my dog to your place. My last time there a couple of years ago, tucked and I went to Corwell in North Muskegon and have been very happy with how the treat me, talk to me about everything going on. Treating me like a human.

Thought about leaving 5 stars but there is always room for improvement. My mother just had surgery at Trinity Health. The nurses, from Pre Op to Post Op, and after care for an over night visit were all amazing. The care was bar none some of the best I have seen around the country, because I have lived in a few different states. You could truly see and feel the care that was given by all! The cleanliness if the hospital was a 9 out of 10. ( I was an EVS Manager for a couple years in a hospital.) I was checking baseboards, hanging photos, behind doors. I was unable to find dust or dust bunnies anywhere.
I stayed the night with my mother and only got about two hours sleep. It wasn't because of the couch that turns into a bed, that wasn't too bad to sleep on. It was the nurse that kept coming in to do her rounds, waking me up. I was thankful to be woken up so much, because that nurse doing her rounds like she is supposed to equals good care.
A couple small observations. This one not quite so small and should be addressed. I don't know if it was miss communication or what but my mother didn't have compression socks on when she came out of surgery. Having family in the medical / surgical field, we all understand that this is a must to prevent blood clotting after surgery, especially if the patient isn't mobile a lot. I would put it on the nurses though, unless there was an order and it wasn't followed.
Smaller observation. Cafeteria surely isn't all that. My sister and brother in law had bragged bout it from the past experience but said it's nothing like it use to be. Fries and other food sitting in a warmer getting stale and hard.
Thants enough about that.
Skip to the day of discharge. Mom's husband called 911 after she was home for a bit. They thought she was having a heart attack. EMS took her into the emergency room. By the time I got back there, the Doctor in the ER was examining her, running test, pictures, and blood work. She was there a few hours before released. I felt the attention to detail and the patient was above par and exactly what needed to be done. I wish i remembered that ED Doctor's name because he was amazing. Very caring and professional! All the ED staff, Lab staff, Xray techs, phlebotomist, etc. who played a part in the ED care were amazing.
I don't live here in Michigan but have family that does. I hear horror stories about this hospital all the time and see crap on Facebook. A lot of it is about the ED. Wait times, Ect. I will say this, if people would stop using the ED for caught, stubbed toes, diarrhea, and non ED related BS that can be taken care of at a clinic, it would relieve these poor overworked, underpaid staff, to deal with the real emergencies! Fact is Fact!

Somehow my step son got listed as a Jon Doe after being hit by a car, even though his wallet was in his pocket and his dad rode with him in the ambulance. The first day he was upstairs visitors were able to get in without issue, then this morning my husband was denied entry to his son d/t the hospitals error. After a few phone calls I was able to sort it out, but with my family already very stressed out, this was just not acceptable.
