Dr.Bonnema came into my life in 2014. I took both my parents to all of their appointments. And have never ever felt as comfortable with any other Dr as we do with him. I completely trust him with the lives of my entire family. I had gotten a call that my next appointment had to be changed and am NOT happy about the change. Dr.Bonnema is the reason I still go to Trinity. I can't even put into words how this upsets me
Unavailable. This provider is never available. They will schedule with another one and then call you to reschedule that appointment because it is not your cardiologist. It has been almost a year trying to schedule an appointment that keeps getting rescheduled. BTW, I've had to utilize the ER because I can't get into see my cardiologist.
Dr. Bonnema performed my surgery (pacemaker placement) without anesthesia. There was a question about the fentanyl which evidently had been replaced with normal saline and he was reluctant to proceed. He didn't bother to inform me he was going to and just proceeded to cut me open. It was very painful and traumatic. It took me two years to emotionally recover. I talked to a lawyer who told me it would be a waste of money to sue. Michigan doesn't protect the public from unhinged physicians. The entire experience was one of the worst hospital/doctor experiences of my life. Needless to say I engaged the services of a physician more likely to treat his patients as actual people when he released me from his care.
Dr Bonnema has help me since '14 ,from stents to triple bypass care & recovery ! My bypass surgery was in '17 it's now '24 so I would say he has done a great job ! He is caring and takes time to explain what's happening in layman terms ! Thank Doc!
Dr Bonnema and his staff have been a perfect fit for my brother. For almost 10 years, we could not have asked for better care and personalized treatment from Dr Bonnema. Five stars! We are fortunate to have him in Muskegon!
