This review and expression of gratitude for Dr. Crawford is long overdue. In the fall of 2013 I had a sudden onset of severe atrial fibrillation. After hospitalization in a moderate sized Michigan city, my condition was such that my resting heart rate was 140 to 160 bpm continuously. I would sleep for about 90 minutes, followed by about 90 minutes of waking, then repeat cycle. This went on for about ten days after discharge from hospital. The cardiologist who treated me in-hospital relayed that since chemical and electricial conversion were not successful for me, I was going to have to learn to live with fib. I found out about cardiac ablation and when identifying this to the cardiologist, he told me that this was a technique to treat fib but "we don't do that here". [Why not refer me to a facility/doctor who will?] I contacted the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor and had the great fortune of being treated by Dr. Thomas Crawford. His patience, skill, and training gave me my life back through his experience with electrophysiology and the ablation technique. Thank you Dr. Crawford for working to restore my health and my life.
