I will be forever grateful to UMass Worcester for the care they gave my 16-month-old daughter. From the moment we arrived, the team acted quickly and immediately recognized that she was in hypoxia. She was admitted to the ICU without delay, and the treatment was fast, professional, and full of compassion. I especially want to thank the ICU nurses Suzie and Katerina, who treated my daughter with so much kindness, patience, and dedication. Their support made all the difference during the most difficult days for our family. Thank you, for not only saving my daughter's life but also for treating us with dignity and respect. We will never forget it.

My 93 (almost 94) year old grandmother was transported via ambulance to the ER of this hospital. My father and I waited until she was "settled" and when we arrived, she was wheeled out to us in the WAITING area because all beds were supposedly full and they were understaffed. Meanwhile, the area is filling up and despite vitals occasionally being done by med techs (one of whom later proved to be unpleasant and unprofessional ) no one could give anyone in the waiting area (some of whom were also elderly, one of whom I was told was suffering a minor stroke) an estimated time as to when they would be seen. We were there at least 5 or more hours waiting. That being said we left, went to another hospital in Southbridge and my grandmother was immediately seen! This poor of an excuse hospital in Worcester was not only negligent on the elderly but to have a med tech there look at me (after going to her about my grandmother's increase in symptoms) and allegedly tell me VERY NASTILY that after she reasseses she is coming back out to the waiting area was very much uncalled for! What is more... does this mean that if her issues became more emergent and life-threatening they would not assist her? Talk about a liability! Anyways, the plan will be to never come here again. As a matter of fact, I have intentions of filing complaints with DPH, the medboard, joint commission and etc. for jeopardizing the safety and wellbeing of a patient; something I would encourage if you have likewise experienced this same issue with yourself or your loved one. PS. I would give this place ZERO stars if such an option was offered

A Life-Saving Experience - Forever Grateful I was brought to this hospital after a serious motorcycle accident that left me with eight broken bones, a collapsed lung, and internal bleeding. It was one of the scariest moments of my life -- but from the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by an incredible team of doctors, nurses, and staff who treated me with skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Every person involved in my care acted with the utmost professionalism and humanity. They weren't just doing their jobs -- they were selfless, patient, and truly caring. I felt safe, supported, and respected every step of the way. Thanks to them, I'm here today and on the road to recovery. Words cannot fully express the gratitude I feel. These people are angels in scrubs, and I will never forget the role they played in saving my LIFE!

They left my 90 year old Grandfather IN THE HALLWAY for two days! He had a broken neck and they would not give him a room. He can't sleep and no one would help him use the bathroom! He was freezing under a thin sheet. I asked for a blanket for him and they didn't bring one until the next day. I told them he needed help to go to the bathroom and no one would help him! He's not supposed to move around with his neck the way it is. Everyone out in the hallways were old people. There are plenty of nurses there so they are not understaffed. There's no excuse for him being ignored in the hallway.

The doctors and nurses are wonderful. That's the only reason it's 1 star, because I'd give it 0 stars otherwise. The wait times in the ER are horrendous. The last time we were here, we waited over 8 hours to be seen. We're still currently waiting now and have been here for almost 3 hours at this point. And we're only here because we have no choice. There was someone who had been waiting so long and was in pain after surgery that they finally laid down on the floor because it hurt too much to sit in a chair. And then the staff yelled at them and told them to get off the floor while person was moaning in pain and asking for help. Staff finally came out about 20 minutes later to help them, but it shouldn't take someone being so uncomfortable that they needed to lay on the floor, to finally get some help. There's a child that's been waiting for almost 2 hours now with a broken leg. Horrid. I'm sure if you're dying, they'll get you in quickly, but anything else, be prepared to spend the day/night waiting.
