Recently made use of their maternity ward. Entire staff was incredible. They were very comforting while also being professional and very knowledgeable. They responded very quickly whenever we called the staff from our room. We stayed 4 days after the C-section. Only negative I have is the parking situation. Seems the facility has outgrown its parking allotment. But yeah - many thanks to the doctors and nurses who helped deliver our baby and got us up to speed on how to care for a newborn.

Very poor quality of care. Arrogant Dr. would not listen to anything being said, and actually chose to argue and escalate into a screaming match when I was a patient. He refused to give me his name, threatened to "call Psych", caused MORE of a conflict by going against my wishes to transfer out of this less than 3rd rate medical "circus sideshow" instead of offering any BASIC understanding, compassion or care - He was an arrogant little twit and was central to making this the absolute worst experience I have ever endured from any medical facility in my life. They are horribly under-staffed (according to the 2nd shift nurse) and I found that patient care comes last and that deplorabley unsocialized practitioner, or doctor, or whatever he was needs to return to school for sensitivity training. If you are going to dispense "medical care" and especially treatment to an in-patient stranger, you introduce yourself, provide your name and title and show that you want to HELP, not give one of the most apathetic, unprofessional, and arrogant displays of superiority that has ever been staged and hold patients hostage. I felt unsafe and repeatedly asked for a patient advocate for assistance. Only after hours of hoping someone would come speak with me, did a nurse finally admit that they had long since departed for the day. I heard 2 nurses lie about their reasons for a lengthy wait for pain medication, they then changed their stories after they realized that I was calling them out about doing so. There are other options with higher standards of care than this low-rated medical facility. Their patient experience score is low for a reason. Keep safe.

My husband was seen in the ER for a bleeding issue. The ER team was amazing. They were very attentive and quickly accessed his needs. He was transferred upstairs and admittedto a room. He was cared for by many different nurses and Drs. Their care and concern was so comforting. He had round the clock care and in a few days was able to Go home with care and follow ups all planned out. Thank you to a great team effect !! Everyone on staff including hospital support workers were so kind and thoughtful. Thanks to all. Pat Belmarsh

South Shore Hospital is amazing! I am 53 years old and have been coming here since my 20''s! In the past year i had two serios issues (hypothermia & a serious case of a celluitis wound injury on my lower leg) As a result bouth times i had to spend a week at the hospital. Both times I had miinmal wait experience, the staff was astute and attentive & very friendly. In addition the doctors were amazing too. I had no issues with staff. After being discharged both times , I feel great! I will continue to come to South Shore Hospital in the future!
