Their individual doctors (Besides Dr. O'Leary) and specialists are fantastic: their ER is poorly ran. Their inpatient staff is disorganized and cant give the proper level of care to complex patients to the point of missing VERY vital things (my mother went into hypercapnic respiratory failure was hospitalized there and subsequently had a stroke. They wouldn't check even though as per proxy I told them her DDimer was VERY high and so were BNP's). I was ignored. They said it was the respiratory failure. Respiratory failure doesn't do that the type she had anyway I brought up the same exact thing to that deeply dumb and prideful Dr. Daniel O'leary-- Because it had been over a month since she got out of the hospital and she still wasn't getting better, he wouldn't run any further tests to evaluate. If she had a stroke it took a neurologist going over the MRI. She had done well inpatient to see the stroke and it was a large one. This was a specialist that works within this hospital who spotted the stroke hence my review. Their outpatient specialists are fantastic. Their individual primary care doctors besides doctor O'Leary are fantastic. I would not take a dying family member or a family member in extreme medical crisis to the emergency room or allow them to be placed inpatient inside that hospital ever. Go to Clinton's ER because they will actually transfer you out.

The worst emergency hospital ever. I probably caught another sickness from being in the waiting room for hours.
I was told its typicall to wait for 14hrs there..whaaaat seriously. So someone could be silently dying and they wouldnt know untill they saw a dead body.
My stomach is killing me. I came there because it became unbearable. They had me seating in the waiting room chair for 4-5 hours making my abdominal have more pain.
When i just walked up and asked if my test results came. This nurse looked on the computer and said everything looked normal. Well clearly it's not normal if I'm there.
I had to leave because I was in so much more pain.
I left there with more pain then going in.. Crazy!!!
Well I'm righting this review. If anything happens to me. Its the hospitals fault! The worse service EVER.

If you have an Emergency! Not a cold or flu! Minor issues.. Go to Gardner Hospital.. Excellent.. Go to Clinton..Excellent .. Not Umass Leominster Emergency..Or go by car, if possible.. The Hospital itself has great care, as a patient..And very good Doctors.. The Emergency Room has had so many complaints and Complications that they should be reported, To The Attorney General's Office/ Governor!! Or Medical Board.. a your State Reps!! don't sit on it!! Do it..get it reported! I had a ambulance come to my house, and I demanded to be brought to Clinton...be stern..

Went for a deep finger cut from a serrated knife that would not stop bleeding filled more than 3 full sheets of paper towel with blood before getting there. Triage did not look at what was beneath the makeshift bandage I put on it. We were sent to the area b waiting that was supposed to be for simpler faster things like possibly needing stitches or just a better clean and bandage of the deep wound. Two hours in we were told 2 people had just been discharged and it shouldn't be much longer. Left 3 hours later without being seen. It was also very dirty, trash on the floor sticky residue on the tables. There was someone else violently throwing up that they also just left waiting. If you are bleeding go somewhere else, you are likely to die in the waiting room here.

A while back i was brought to the emergency room by ambulance for a compound fractured of the middle toe on my left foot. Bleeding heavily i was moved into an ER room and subsequently shoved out in the hallway. After about 4 hours, which seems to be the standard wait time here, a physicians assistant showed up. He asked me what happened and i gave him the run down. He looked at the toe asked if i was in pain. I told him no i have diabetic neuropathy no feeling.
He proceeded to inject the toe area with shot. The attempt to handle thee wound was a side show. It was almost impossible to stitch up. They finally closed the wound and sent me home with a warning to watch out for infection. By morning the next day red lines indicating a rapidly developing infection, a deadly one had within 24 hours begun to spread. To make a long story short, Leominster having no beds, had to send me to Clinton Hospital. I remained there for five days being treated with heavy antibiotics via an IV drip and oral meds. I was discharged and sent to an orthopedic specialist. I subsequently had to have the toe amputated. If i would have been in a sterile atmosphere this would not have happened. It's like they knew an infection of this type was likely. To follow up I received great care at Clinton. It was everything you would want in a hospital. Hospitals are now money generators for these big conglomerates. Mara needs to get her butt in her hands an investigate this issue.
