Patient
I am compelled to share my recent unfortunate experience with Carroll Health Group-Cardiology, and I hope this review prompts positive changes within the establishment. My fiance contacted the facility to schedule an appointment, only to receive a call back half an hour later, abruptly canceling the appointment due to perceived rudeness towards the receptionist. This left us both confused and concerned. Upon discussing the matter with the manager, we were shocked to learn that the receptionist had accused my fiance of making a racist comment during the call. Despite our immediate request for phone call records to gain clarity, we were informed that such records were mysteriously unavailable. Accusing someone of racism without any proof or investigation is a substantial matter that demands serious attention. The incident may have been a result of miscommunication, possibly exacerbated by construction noise. When the receptionist inquired about my fiance's race, he requested options. The receptionist suggested it was blank, leading him to put down "white." This exchange may have contributed to the unfortunate misunderstanding. As an Asian individual with a heavy accent, English being my second language, I frequently encounter challenges repeating myself on the phone. I understand these difficulties. However, labeling anyone as racist without a proper investigation does not contribute positively to our society. I implore the management to prioritize staff training and thorough investigations before taking action, especially in a critical field like cardiology. Patient care should be the utmost priority, and the thought that something critical could have happened to a patient in need of cardiology services is deeply concerning. This experience has left us disappointed and questioning the professionalism and ethics within Carroll Health Group-Cardiology. I sincerely hope that steps are taken to address these issues promptly and ensure a more respectful and understanding environment for future patients.
