Rajeev Patel, MD, FACC, FSCAI, graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BSE in Biomedical Engineering. He obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he also complete internal medicine residency. He then completed general cardiology fellowship at the Gill Heart Institute at the University of Kentucky and subsequently interventional cardiology fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas.
Dr Patel is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is an interventional cardiologist specializing in coronary and peripheral vascular interventions.

Dr. Patel arrived at the office over a half hour late for my appointment, appeared to only do a cursory review of my results, focused on my heart, and suggested I needed more exercise. I was concerned about shortness of breath that had developed over one to two months. He provided a pulmonologist reference. Unfortunately by the time I had obtained an appointment with a pulmonologist and started performing testing it was too late. I had a pulmonary embolism and I almost died.
Bottom line is find a doctor that takes you and your concerns more seriously. If you have a shortness of breath that does not seem related to lack of exercise, get help immediately, it could be a serious problem that needs medical attention.
