Reed Shnider, MD

Dr. Shnider is a great cardiologist. He takes His time explaining issues to you. I have all the faith in the world for him. The staff is also wonderful to deal with.

My mother's appointment was scheduled for 10:30. She was not called back until 11:15. After seeing the nurse for medical history, vitals and an ekg test, she was sent back to the waiting room for approximately 35 minutes. She was called back again to sit in the exam room where she waited an additional 30 minutes. Despite the extremely long wait, Dr. Schnider took his time with my mom and really got to know her medical/personal history and background. He demonstrated empathy and compassion and stated the reason he takes a long time is because he really wants to get to know his patients. From start to finish, we waited a total of 3 hours. I understand the doctor can get backed up but this is inconsiderate of his patients.

Dr. Shnider has incredible expertise in cardiology taking the time to explain complex issues in a clear compassionate way. He is an excellent listener, who always encourages me to discuss my concerns, questions and goals. He is patient kind and I never feel rushed during visits which makes discussing sensitive health issues much less stress, stressful.

My echo appointment at 1:00 did not happen, however, no one called me or texted me to let me know. Dr. Shnider was running very very late and I ended up waiting 2.5 hours for my 10 minute appointment. I understand things happen in a cardiologist's day, as well as that there were unusual circumstances (whatever they were); however, someone in the office should have communicated that to me. They could have advised me to come back in an hour or that they would text me 30 minutes prior to when he would see me. It was a very frustrating two-and-a-half hours. Please communicate with your patients. We are people who have lives and things to do. Communicate, please!
