During a routine check up at my internists office, I was given a scare with an "abnormal" EKG. My doctor recommended I saw a cardiologist affiliated with her practice and have some testing done. Despite her recommendation, I knew who I was going to see. From the moment you walk into Dr. Ankit Shah's office, you'll understand why he is the premiere sports cardiologist. You're warmly greeted upon your arrival to this beautiful, open and clean office. I'm a big sports fan myself so a nice touch was the office being full of memorabilia and pictures of him with prominent sports and healthcare figures. It's clear that everyone, including professional athletes, trust Dr. Shah with their heart health. After a seamless check in, it was time to get some work done. Alina was the professional, skilled and friendly sonographer that performed a well executed echocardiogram for Dr. Shah's interpretation. After the echocardiogram, I was escorted to the most impressive room in the office for a very sophisticated exercise stress test. The room was equipped with state of the art technology to best evaluate my cardiac fitness and health. All performed by Dr. Shah himself. After all of the testing, I sat down and had a candid and informative "1 on 1" with Dr. Shah. He explained and reviewed my tests and health in understandable and thorough detail. Thanks to Dr. Shah's knowledge and his state of the art facility, he discovered that my cardiac status was normal and the "scare" was over. Despite the circumstance for which I was there, I cannot say enough about my experience at this lovely and professional office. Thank you, Dr. Shah. You're the best.

I have seen other cardiologist over my life time, but Dr. Ankit Shah is wonderful. He listens, he is compassionate, he cares about your well-being and he explains in detail about your health. I highly recommend Dr. Shah. He also has a group of amazing staff working in the office, very kind and very polite. Definitely 5 star.

Dr Shah is knowledgeable and exceedingly competent. He listens well, treats patients respectfully, and is thoughtful and thorough, providing a high level of personal care. He is a top-notch cardiologist for any issue and additionally offers unique expertise for athletes seeking to improve their sports cardio conditioning. I wish I had known him when I started the DC Tri Club and was training for the Boston Marathon and Ironman! Alina is super sweet and responsive and does all the prep work (as well as some of the diagnostics) to ensure the visits run smoothly and timely. Parking is easy. The whole set-up is pleasant and a welcome change from the experience with many health care providers.
