MedStar Health: Cardiology at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital - Johnston Professional Building

...I visited the 2nd floor which is The Hand Therapy facility but only it was my shoulder and upper arm joint that was given me pain and mobility problems, my therapist name was Lauren and she's extremely dedicated and does professional work, she provided therapeutic techniques that actually eased much of my upper arm joint pain, I've already recommended this Hand Therapy facility at Johnston Professional to several people who's having joint pain problems!

Convenient location with ample parking. Reception and lab staff were friendly and cheerful. The doctor seemed a bit rushed when answering my questions, but still provided thorough care. Overall, a positive experience.

Today I had my first visit With Dr. PATEL, Cardiology @ MedStar health @ Union Memorial hospital. It's amazing every time I go there I get treated utmost Respect from the first person I see to office at check in, the Nurses and the Doctors. Everyone i come in contact with are very knowledgeable they do a outstanding job to inform you whatever they are doing every step of the way! For me all my doctors 99% are from MedStar and that's a fact! Dr. PATEL, for being a young man the knowledge impressed me. I understood everything he told. I will say this if you need a Cardiology Dr. PATEL, and his staff is awesome and I would recommend him To everyone. Thank you Dr. PATEL, Union Memorial hospital and MedStar God Bless.

My initial appointment with Dr. Ghosh was sub-par. I wouldn't call it terrible, but I also would say it was at all good. It was an available appointment for an urgent need, so I took it. I left feeling like I wasn't heard, but attempted to remind myself that they are the expert (despite the "it's likely stress and anxiety" nonsense, that in this case, was not at all true). I did appreciate the urgency and coordination of testing that their scheduler provided. My messages between appointments didn't seem to be actually read as the responses included the opposite of what I was sharing. My follow up was terrible. I felt belittled for my concerns, was interrupted multiple times, and when Dr. Ghosh finally listened to what I had been trying to convey, the response felt like one of annoyance. I brought someone with me to support my self-advocacy and they were completely alarmed at how this appointment had gone. Compassion, a listening ear, and patience were missed at both of my appointments. I'll definitely be seeking a second opinion from a provider who doesn't just assume I'm yet another stressed and anxious woman.

I am new to MedStar and was apprehensive about my initial appointment, because of things I "heard". A family member recommended the doctor that I met with and I was pleasantly pleased and extremely satisfied with the experience. All personnel that I encountered were professional, respectful, knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful. The sanitation of the facility and surrounding grounds was exceptional, which is important to me.
