About Dr. Charles Thompson, MD - Cardiovascular Institute of the South

Dr. Charles Thompson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. After working as a paramedic in south Louisiana, he completed his medical education at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Thompson is board certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular computed tomography. He was awarded the MBB Golden Hour Award, an international award of excellence for an aeromedical crew. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and more. He was invited to participate in the International Andreas Gruentzig Society which focuses on and meets to discuss the advancement of cardiovascular intervention.
