Went to e.r. for abdominal pain and they never came to check back on me or gave me any news what was going on.. flushed my iv 8xs in 10 mins with saline. NO COMMUNICATION husband had to hunt down a nurse just to get my discharge papers. I had to take all my stuff off on my own! Ooo and my blood pressure was running really low.. amd no concerns about it!

(-5 stars) My mother was in this hospital during the summer 2024. I was with her for 15 days and I spoke with the rounds doctor every Morning at 7:00 am. The only thing I was told for 15 day is that he was not her doctor and he had nothing to add. My mother caught COVID 19 in the hospital. Upon release (the family was given 2 hours' notice) the rounds doctor got angry and made an ugly scene, when asked if my mother was covid free. He said very loudly, why do you not love your mother and want to take her home, then laughed about it with his back was turn to her and he was smirking to my face. The doctor became so combative. I thought I was going to have to call security. The discharging staff wasn't any better.... later I realized it was coordinated. We had to bring my mother back two days later due to complications from covid 19 and the whole process started over. This time they recommend Hospice. Our family declined and she is still alive and doing well (Oct-2025) with the help of another Hospital in Shreveport LA. My mother had Medicaid and a private insurance. If you have insurance; I would recommend that you go else were. On the upside, the cafeteria was surprisingly good! You have been forewarned.

Not sure why the score for this part of the system is so low. My experience has been with various parts of the Willis Knighton Health System and I have found the system to be exceptional: Physicians in the Medical Arts Building, the Hospital, Specialty Clinics, etc. From my experience WKHS is an internationally connected and recognized health care facility that still continues to give attention to individual care. I can remember when the only part of it was on Greenwood Road. Now it's everywhere in the Shreveport-Bossiere area and even extends east to some of the smaller cities and towns located in the Louisiana I-20 corridor. Because of its reputation, the system attracts the most talented professionals from everywhere on the globe, and many of them lend their services to both the Oschner- LSU Healthcare System and the Veterans Administration System. When searching for an area to which to retire, relocate, or remain, the quality of the healthcare offered there is of utmost importance. WKHS is an award- winning healthcare system that as of August 2025, is a part of the Mayo Clinic Care network! Congratulations, WKHS!

I left Dr. Brakta office at 2pm to be admitted and I am still waiting at 5pm After surgery at 2pm, was told I could eat,but was not given any food till 6:30pm-18 hours fasting. I was to get Trazodone at 9pm and the pharmacy held it up until I asked again and again and the nurse had to go get it Then nurse Janice gave me 2 shots without cleaning the skin with alcohol. I was once told that WK HOSPITAL was a well-oiled machine, but sadly it is not anymore. The customer is not the top priority anymore. One nurse assistant acted like she was mad and threw things around and waited almost her whole shift to change my dirty bed clothes.On a positive note,all my doctors and their staff have been excellent Nurses Danielle and nurses assistant Kim have been great.

This is a summary account. My family member was admitted to this hospital facility on 14 March on the fifth floor. The staff was attentive and friendly (e.g., Jenny and Ashley and assistants) except for the MRI transport and a nurse on 29 April. The tech chose to openly laugh at my family member. She was experiencing a traumatic event. His behavior was unacceptable given his chosen profession. The nurse was routinely rude and dismissive towards me. For example, she chose to dismiss me as her primary caregiver, at best. In turn placing my loved one at risk. I left a message but did not hear from floor supervisor. These unacceptable experiences are likely to result in NEVER returning to WK nor referring others to WK.
