About Dr. William M Boedefeld II, MD
Dr. William M. Boedefeld II, MD is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He pursued his general surgery residency and research training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Boedefeld went on to complete his Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Virginia. He is Board Certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Boedefeld is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), Southern Thoracic Surgical Association (STSA) and an Associate of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a surgeon member of the Our Lady of the Lake Heart & Vascular Institute multidisciplinary valve team and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center.

My mom had a very hard heart surgery 1.5 years ago and Dr. Boedefeld did an amazing job. Even with a few problems (once he got in there) he did great job. I would definitely recommend him. Loved his main nurse too! The whole Cardiology unit at OLOL was absolutely amazing.
