About Dr. Martin James Marak, MD

Martin Marak, MD, received his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Marak earned his medical degree from LSU Health Science Center - School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at LSU Health Science Center and his cardiovascular disease Fellowship at the University of Alabama Birmingham. When he and his wife aren't busy chasing around their two (soon to be three) boys, Dr. Marak enjoys hiking/backpacking and running.

Surprise billing practices. I asked 2 different people how much I had to pay. They said 55 bucks. I asked if there was anything else. They said no. I got charged for a 45 minute visit (may have been 25 mins total) and a test. I did not know ahead of time there were going to be any additonal charges. Someone knocked twice and immediately entered my room while my shirt was up for a test and I was already uncomfortable. I have tried calling fmol the phone rings off the hook and they will not respond to my voicmails. Texts dont recognize anything. The doctor was fabulous, but as usual, OLOL is awful and I just can not return to this practice for these reasons. The 5 is for the doctor.

I saw the same cardiologist for over 20 years who is known to be one of the best and most experienced cardiologists in town who I really liked and had the upmost confidence in. My insurance changed and I had to change cardiologists which was stressful after seeing the same one for so long. I am now seeing Dr. Marak and he is wonderful. Spends a lot of time with his patients, very down to earth, listens to your concerns , and is very knowledgeable. He will go the extra mile for his patients. As an RN, I am very particular about the doctors that my family and I see and I highly recommend Dr. Marak.
