Dr. Garland Green joined Cardiovascular Institute of the South in 2012 as an interventional cardiologist at the Baton Rouge office. He has provided cardiology care for patients since 2007. Dr. Green earned his doctorate at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his internal medicine residency through the University of Alabama-Birmingham Program, and he completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Green is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, and he is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the National Medical Association, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Green has been phenomenal since day one. My husband has intensive heart disease. He takes very good care of him. He is patient, caring and answers all questions we have. We never feel rushed. He is also very aggressive when it comes to the health of my husband. Stays on top of his testing and a close eye on things! Couldn't ask for better. He is also now my son's doctor and wouldn't want anyone else!
I only waited five minutes before the good doctor entered the room to presume patient care, instead of the normal 30-45 minute wait! I was abundantly surprised and pleased! Good job Dr. Green...let's continue this practice on my next visit.
