Dr. Fontenot treated my mother preparing her for heart valve replacement. He was so caring and compassionate. His staff was amazing and the care given was top notch and at all times my mother's care was priority. Highly recommend Dr. Fontenot.
Dr Fontenot was friendly but I got there early and still had to wait over an hour and a half past my appointment time to have 3 minutes with the doctor just so he could tell me something like "let's try cutting out this med for 3 months and see what happens". There were only a handful of people in the waiting room so I know it wasn't bc they were so busy. His evaluation was very generic and non personal. The front desk nurses were rude and seemed annoyed that I didn't know which person to talk to bc there are 4 or 5 up there. I was recommended to Dr Fontenot by a physician who I do respect and who has helped me, but I think I'm better off treating myself than dealing with this lack of care.
I have been very happy with the care that I receive from Dr. Fontenot. I have confidence in his care of me, and I like his "bedside manner". I use the patient portal to communicate with him often when I have questions, and I receive very timely responses. I think their patient portal is highly effective. Also, I've never had to wait a long time to see him, and checkout is fast and efficient. I Highly recommend dr. Fontenot in Baton Rouge Cardiology.
I decided to give them a second chance. At check-in they asked me to pay my copay. So I asked if they were running behind today because I didn't have time to wait way past my appointment time. She called the nurse and they said they were running about 45 minutes behind, which I knew was a conservative estimate. Last time, I still had to wait a long time once they pulled me into the room, and the nurses were very unprofessional. They were talking about personal stuff to each other and basically ignoring me. I told them to remove me from the patient list and made it clear how ridiculous that wait time is. I will not be going back to Dr Fontenot and will make sure anyone I'm close to avoids this headache too. I have never had issues like this with Dr's at Ochsner, Cardiovascular Institute of the South, or any other facility.
