My 92 year old Mother inlaw had an 11:15 am appointment yesterday for a 6 month checkup. She is currently in a rehab facility in Denham Springs. She lost the ability to walk a few weeks ago and can only stand with help of 2 aides so she is confined to the wheelchair. She arrived at 11 am and left the office a few minutes after 1:30 PM. A little after 1 she told me she didn't think she could stay in the chair much longer. I saw Dr Helm and his Assistant in the hall so I tried to explain the situation and I was told very clearly by Dr Helm " you can leave if you want there are plenty other doctors who are faster than me so leave if you want...go". I was a little surprised at his reaction. I ask how long he thought it would be and he said 10 minutes but we were welcome to leave. We stayed for another 45 minutes. FYI.She has been a patient of his for at least 12 years. I see others refering to him as a "Godly" man. I'm not sure a "Godly" man would leave a 92 year old woman in a wheel chair for 3 hours in his office. She has decided to take his advice and find someone a little faster.

Dr Helm came highly recommended and I know why but he made me feel so much better and was nice his bedside manner www awesome ! But he just talked to me like a person and took his time and fitted me in and I'm so greatful.

The best I have ever had. I am 78 yrs old and have had many heart Dr's. I had a heart valve replacement in 1995, and moved many times.
