I am so grateful to Dr Jones in the ER! I had been to Dr's and the ER 3 times before I got the diagnosis of IC and was treated. Dr Jones listened and helped me to get into Urology. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

-------------->. NIGHTMARE!!!!! <--------------- Pacemaker was put in. Started having issues 2 weeks later after a device check. Went to ER. 8 hours later sent to a room. After 2 days later of confusion and NO HELP!!! Sent home with a lead through my heart and placed in my diaphragm!!! Heart rate 33 for over 5 minutes. Requested to talk to a Dr. was refused. I am concerned about the level of care people recieve here. The care my mother received during her recent stay at Owensboro Health doesn't even deserve a star. She was denied basic care, including food and fluids, for over 12 hours, and despite repeated inquiries, no staff member could provide a clear explanation for this restriction. They also don't read patient charts before coming into the room. I know this because the ER doctor walked in asking questions and DID NOT EVEN KNOW she had an Ileostomy bag! When my mother was finally allowed to eat again they didnt read her chart to see she has Celiac's disease and gave her regular food full of gluten, which had she ate it would've made her severely sick. They may have killed her if I had not been there to point out all their mistakes. Sickening. Additionally, a critical oversight occurred when the first nurse assigned to her forgot to administer her medication to clear her port so they could pull blood and administer medication and fluids. This negligence directly contributed to her condition to start worsening and could have been entirely avoided--or at least significantly mitigated--had proper care been provided and the nurse had not dropped the ball. Thats why people die there because most of their nurses and doctors work for a paycheck not to help heal the sick and injured. Hospitals are entrusted with the well-being and dignity of their patients, yet this experience demonstrated a severe lapse in both communication and basic medical responsibility. Doctors and nurses take a oath to do no harm and this hospital does way more harm than good. Hence the rating of the hospitaI. I sincerely hope that this matter is reviewed internally so that no other patient or family has to endure such a horrible or even worse experience than my mother did.

My Mom was transferred to CCU here at Owensboro Regional Health from Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY after being intubated in ambulance and stabilized at TL in Leitchfield due to heart failure/fluid buildup up in her body that caused her to start suffocating. She turned blue/purple and gray at different times while trying to breathe even though intubated. I literally watched my Mom almost die not being able to breathe. Methamphetamines played a big factor because she was already in heart failure. Her heart is functioning below 15%. The Nurses and assistants have been fantastic. In fact the nurses were in way more than I ever even saw assistants. Not one of the nurses ever treated her like a drug addict. They put their judgment to the side and truly care for their patients as they should in their positions. I cannot say that we have had the same experience with Twin Lakes in Leitchfield. They are good but not exceptional by far. The nurses that have assisted us here are EXCEPTIONAL! And to name them because I think they should be recognized: Kayla Maiden, Seth Burden, Erin Tulson and April Wall! I am so grateful for these people and pray God continue to Bless them in their daily lives and in the work field! After being here 3 days one of the nurses recommended the hospitality suites the hospital offers for $25 a night. I was so blessed that night. I was up 42 hours before getting approx. 4 hrs in the chair in CCU after hours of continuing with no sleep, I slept really good in the hospitality suite. I thought I was going to a room with a lil hospital bed and bathroom however to my amazement, it was actually a wing in the hospital that has actual hotel rooms. Very nice! Stephanie and Ashley at guest services were the sweetest ladies and were very accommodating in all of my needs. They were attentive to my questions. I could just go on. I cannot speak for any other parts of the hospital but the CCU Nurses and the two Guest Service Ladies I mentioned again are EXCEPTIONAL! I work for a company that is very giving with charities and I plan to share the sponsorship information regarding the hospitality suites to them. What a great resource for families. Today is day 5 and I am blessed to be able to purchase the suite for a shower and rest. The Occupational Therapy team have been great! I really like Dr. Brasher. He will tell you straight and not beat around the bush or sugar coat regarding his patients. I couldn't be more pleased with the services received.
