Victor van Berkel, M.D., Ph.D., is a thoracic surgeon with UofL Physicians - Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and an associate professor in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is also a member of the lung transplant team at UofL Health - Trager Transplant Center and the lung cancer team at UofL Health - Brown Cancer Center. Dr. van Berkel's areas of interest include exhaled carbonyl compound analysis, lung transplant, robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology and tracheal abnormalities. He received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine.
