Went there via ambulance due to a workplace back injury that had me incontinent and immobile for 3 days, I was in absolutely horrible pain and was septic as well. I needed emergency surgery on my back. Dr. Dickerson in the ER had no bedside manner and treated me like an annoyance. I will never forget him asking me why pain would make me unable to eat. No pain meds despite asking. Lots of x-rays. Being moved around a lot. My nurse clearly didn't care about my pain at all, flipping my body around so fast when I begged to stop for a second. "We just need to get this done now". I don't know if it was my nurse or a tech who said that, I was in so much pain with a heart rate in the 140's the entire time, but they really needed my urine. I have nightmares about that now. I finally got some toradol and zofran while in the hallway being taken to surgery. 6+ hours after arriving. I'd asked for a phone to call my family several times and was told there was none for patients. Eventually I was given one right before surgery and got to let my family know what was going on. I was in the ICU then Neuro Trauma then PCU units after surgery and will say everyone there was incredibly kind. I hope to one day thank them all. My reasoning for the 1 star is that the ER was unkind to the point of cruelty and Dr. Dickerson only pretended to care about me when he found out I needed surgery. They have also been an extraordinarily silent entity when it comes to getting any medical records, consent for release was signed on the day I discharged so that my workplace comp could start their job. I've been notified that they received nothing from Overland Park Regional, delaying my benefits and I might end up losing my home due to this delay.

I had a total hip replacement. Dr. Brian Kindred and his entire staff, as well as the awesome hospital staff was amazing. From the first appointment in his office to being dismissed from the hospital, they were so organized and professional. I never had to request anything during my overnight hospital stay. The facility itself was clean and user-friendly. This was the best hospital surgery experience I have ever had. I would highly recommend Dr. Kindred and Overland Park Regional for your Ortho needs. (My husband had a total knee replacement three months prior to my surgery, and he witnessed the same amazing results then.)

My care at the medical center was, in one word, exceptional. My doctors and care team were attentive, transparent, supportive, and extremely experienced. I had major surgery at the hospital, which is modern and clean, and the staff kept me and my family updated and informed throughout my stay and after I came home. I cannot recommend OP Regional enough!

I was impressed with the care I received while at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Every person I encountered was pleasant and helpful. The hospital was clean, with well planned patient rooms. My only complaint is that I think communication between staff, especially the doctors, should be better. They would walk into my room not knowing why I was there, nor what had been done. And the communication for me to be dismissed was pathetic. It took an entire afternoon to simply get the necessary signatures, once the go ahead had been given to dismiss. The food was surprisingly good! I was pleasantly surprised. And even more surprised when the head chef visited my room for my input regarding the meals. I gladly gave him all positive feedback. Except for some poor communication, I was very impressed with your medical facility.

I was bought there after a car accident.its was raining and I pee on myself due to shock from the accident. I was in terrible pain, confused and embarrassed at the same time. I heard one nurse asking why I was confused when I took time to answer questions and couldn't answer some other questions. I was treated like a piece of meat by some staffs. There left me in that room in pain and shock for a long time (I felt like infinity). There did not even give me a gown or something to change my wet dresses. I was cold and I had no blanket or sheet to cover myself. The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the kind staff that did my X-ray. She came in, look at me and immediately she got sheets to cover me without any word from me.she comforted me and was very gentle when doing the X-ray (God bless her soul).I was giving pain and anxiety pills and send home. I was still in pain but happy to leave that ER.
