Cedar Valley Medical Specialists (CVMS) was established in 1995 by a group of dedicated physicians with the goal of creating an independently owned, multispecialty group to provide healthcare to the Cedar Valley and surrounding areas. Since then, CVMS has not only grown to achieve this goal but continues to strive to provide high quality patient care. CVMS understands the importance of providing care close to home and currently serves the communities of Cedar Falls, Grundy Center, Hiawatha, Independence, Manchester, Marshalltown, Oelwein, Parkersburg, Shellsburg, Vinton, Waverly and Waterloo. Over the past twenty-eight years, CVMS has created a community of qualified, caring and civic minded medical professionals and specialists.

Absolutely love this doctor and staff!!! 1. Dr.Kettman saved my life!!! 2. Instead of him telling me I was fat and need to loss weight he gave me options!!! 3. After then options I ultimately decided to go have the gastric sleeve done and went from 604lbs to 240lbs!!!
Terrible office great doctor. Anyone not wanting to jump through extra hoops and extra charges find a different doctor to go to and support. Doctor is fabulous the staff not so much. Rather then do what you paid them to they'd rather play office politics and drag your care out just to be petty rather than help you and truly worry about your health
Great experience! Was greeted immediately by the front desk associates. Was seen right away by Tammy and she did a wonderful and thorough job and got me my correct prescription. I then was seen by Dr. Cook and was very helpful explaining my at home care. Everyone was so great! Would definitely rec comment to everyone!
Starting with the personnel at the desk, give a very personal and warm greeting upon arrival. They are very diligent in making sure the patient's personal information is correct and up to date. The general atmosphere of the waiting room cheerful and relaxed. Next, the technicians who perform the initial testing are very well trained and personable. I feel that my doctor really cares about my well being. He is very meticulous about the testing and any medicines/ prescriptions he prescribes. In short I feel very well taken care of from the moment I walk in the door until I check out. I feel that EVERYONE in this office, from the time I walk in until I leave, really care about the patient and the service they give their patients.
I am very pleased with Dr. Gesme and how thorough he is. I felt at ease and reassured about the proposed treatment for my breast cancer diagnosis. He is down to earth and helped me to understand everything. I really liked his nurse as well, she's calm and patient. They spent a significant amount of time with me and I felt like they truly care.
