Patient
Wow where do I start. Jessica is an amazing woman and nurse. I ended up in the hospital with what the Dr thought was something simple and he was going to do an incision and I'd be home the next day. This is where I can't thank Jessica enough. She didn't just assume that every thing was fine and dandy. She came in a couple times to check on me and then decided to change my shoulder packing. She determined that something wasn't right. She was a convicted there was a problem and ordered a cat scan. After the cat scan she came in and said you're not going home tomorrow you're going into surgery. I was bullheaded and fought tooth and nail with her, but she was persistent and I gave in. I went in for surgery the next day and the surgeon called up to my room and told my wife this : It was flesh eating bacteria. 5 different pockets that the bacteria had made tunnels to connect them all and it was bad. Had I waited another day or maybe even less it would've went septic and well we all know what that means. Had it not been for this amazing nurse practitioner and really going above and beyond what she needed to do, my chances at life would be much different today. It was projected that I would have a med vac on and wouldn't be healed until June. Jessica, I was released and fully healed on March 17, 2022. 7 weeks instead of 24. Vac was off under thirty days and I fully healed in under another thirty days. I wouldn't be able to say that and I am confident when I say this if it wouldn't have been for you, Jessica Wineland. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of the reason I am still here and living life. You are amazing and if they have any kind of award for this you deserve it! Thank you again
