Excellent,Excellent,Excellent. NORTH 3 Thanks for the awesome care for the 10 days I was there. I had 2 places in my back that got cut open due to having infection in my pleural space and back and in my left lung. All the Nurses and PCT's were top notch. Catered to my needs, was always asking if they could do anything or get me anything. Thai was my second time on this floor so I new a couple of nurses and pcts already but regardless the care was awesome. Thank you LeRoy

Met some wonderful people there during two weeks. Every person volunteering, professional and nonprofessional staff were polite, caring, understanding. When they let me bring my wife's dog in well, that just spread so much joy. Questions got answered, things got handled. They made a tough two weeks bearable. Parking is what it is, the lots stay filled, you have to search or park in the garage, walk all the way around go in the first door and get lost in places you don't want to be at. Security was very good. I was so impressed as an old man to get a ride up to my car at the far side parking lot on a cold dark night when I first walked through the building. Entrances and exits. Secure as well, and more exits than entrances.; Drop off, you can get a wheelchair brought to the curb, and then leave it inside on pickup. Nice covered area for that as well. ER? Unless you could be dying, ER's have been crowded and slow for years. I've waited in them for decades. I've also seen moved to the front of the line a couple times. But it has been that way forever. Get used to it. People live in pain all the time. Sorry. Cleanliness. I've never seen a public restroom in an ER that clean. Sure, there might be a wrapper from a prep pad on the floor in a room where it has been busy, but it will get picked up Sharps, they follow the rules. Meds, I've seen everything triple checked and on time. Patient food, good selection, hot, cold all arrives correct. The bacon cheeseburger and fries I had wasn't bad either. Guy knew what he was doing with a burger. Good people, good leadership. It must be great being on a team like that.

Rude and uncaring! Daughter brought in by ambulance but when I checked with front desk they didn't show her listed and said they would notify me when she arrived. After waiting 40 minutes I go to check at the desk again only to find my daughter sitting in a wheel chair by herself with chest pains. When asked about a wait time and informing of chest pains the front desk guy says there's no time limit, they get people by ambulance all the time. I had to walk away from his condescending attitude as if we were just hanging out in the ER for the fun of it. Maybe hire people to show empathy. This place is ridiculous.

Absolutely disgusting ER. For context I went to this ER via ambulance during a GTC seizure that lasted 6 minutes, so I was not conscious/aware of what happened. However my friend who was with me relayed the events that happened because she felt the staff at this ER were neglectful. During this unfortunate visit my seizures that happened were continuously referred to as "fake" seizures/episodes, even though my vital signs specifically O2, HR, and respirations went significantly out of range (o2: 78-82, HR: 135-150, Respiration: 30) as well as my Latic acid which was abnormal. Not only is referring to someone's medical emergency as "fake" incredibly degrading it's also dangerous. They also did not preform any tests to "prove" if my seizures were "fake" or not (ie corneal touch/reflex, sternal rub, arm drop test, and most importantly AN EEG!!!!) I was also covered in severe bruises from kicking a table and hitting on my right side during the first GTC seizure I had. My friend told me later that they had said they were going to X-Ray my body to make sure I didn't break or fracture anything, but they did not. Thankfully nothing is broken so far; I have yet to get an X-Ray at my primary clinic, but that is revolting that proper patient safety measures were not followed. On top of the frustrating lack of care they provided they also failed to chart my clinical notes: which is hindering my PCP's and neurologist's ability to properly understand the nature of the seizures. I am well aware as a student in a BSN program that the ER is not able to diagnose seizures BUT they are absolutely able to take seizures seriously and not make degrading remarks about their patients. As well as providing proper care to patients and educating them accordingly. I implore anyone who has had similar or WORSE experiences at this "emergency department" to familiarize themselves with EMTALA you can file a complaint with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) since as far as my personal research showed Unity Point Methodist is a Medicare participating facility. If your family member or you yourself was personally harmed by this sorry excuse of a hospital then I would seek further action and see if your experience qualifies for a medical malpractice lawsuit. All I can say in regards to that if you decide to follow through is DOCUMENT! DOCUMENT!!! DOCUMENT!!!! I WILL SAY: my friend did say the two male nurses I had were very kind and supportive I don't remember them but if they read this thank you!!! But also please stop working at such a bad ER department your talent and care will flourish elsewhere!

I just had a surgery from this hospital 3 weeks ago, my experience was amazing, the Surgery Team special mention to Dr. Kevin Kremer and his team was the BEST, as well as the CARE Team that took care of me after Surgery, my nurses Sylvia and Nadin and Megan and the Nursing Assistant who are so caring and very attentive to all my needs, thanks to all of you. I highly recommend this place for everyone who wanted to seek a medical attention. Thank you guys for all you've done.
