Took a family member to get clearance for a surgery. Not impressed at all! The office staff yelled out wanting personal information instead getting off her chair and walking over. Not an up-to-date office environment. Had to wait for over an hour in his office to see him. I had to go up to the front office staff to make sure we hadn't been forgotten since there were absolutely no staff on our side of the building!! Going to be suggesting this family member find another heart doctor!

I went to this dr since I was having breathing issues and tachycardia. He did an ekg and I was having difficulty breathing at the time- I don't disagree with his concerns over the results. He ordered an Echo a few days later and the guy who did the echo wasn't too awfully happy to work me in, but I had a high enzyme level on my bloodwork so he kinda had to. He was training a new tech at the time so there was quite a lot of narrative involved.. A little disconcerting. Then he told me to hold my breath (and usually during tests they tell you to take a breath and hold it) that's what I did. He says I don't understand why people always take a deep breath- it expands the lungs. I said did I just do that?? He said yes you did! I just needed you to hold your breath. Then he complained that I'd had breast reduction surgery and it made it harder to see and that of course the whole time I was already stressed, didn't feel good, very uncomfortable on my left and had his attitude! But when the dr saw me he told me he thought I had congestive heart failure. Wanted to do a stress test but put me off 3 wks. They said they'd call me but never heard a word from them. SO- 5 months later I get an appointment with a cardiologist at Franciscan in Indy. I had to cancel my first appt with him because Andres' office didn't send my records. So had to wait another 3 wks to get back in- after I went over to his office to get them!!! The Indy doctor spent a good 45 minutes with me. That's when I heard my echo was normal. Although he was concerned about my EKG which was a bit scary. He did another EKG and it was normal. He gave me the diagnosis of Apical Ballooning Syndrome, which essentially was my heart had been stunned. It happens mostly in post menopausal women for some reason. Stress brings it on and other various things. It returns to normal all by itself. I feel fine now, course after 5 months you either get better or die I guess. But I wanted to see a cardiologist since he'd put that (CHF) in my head. About 26 years ago he told my husband he had cardiomyopathy and sent him to a heart transplant surgeon in Indy- she did a stress test, she was very short with him and didn't know why he was in her office. When my husband told her she said you don't have cardiomyopathy and you don't need a heart transplant! I told my new cardiologist the story and he said the name of that doctor and we said yes!..that was her. He said it sounded pretty much like what he'd expect with her. But she was excellent in her field. I had an excellent visit. He answered any and all questions we had and wants me to get a stress test at my leisure since I've never had one. Be really careful with the diagnosis he's throwing out there because it may not be correct!
