RESPONSE TO JOHN G'S REVIEW OF DR. MIRZA My brother sadly doesn't quite have the facts straight in posting his recent negative review about Dr. Mirza. Dad's former PCP was the doctor who initially prescribed Ozempic for Dad several months ago and who also didn't always have the strongest communication skills. After getting 9 surgeries/procedures behind him over the past 15+ months with a considerable number of rehab and wound care appointments, Dad was finally open to making a PCP change. (Dad had been on "a tour of specialists" for well over a year tied to leg, back and heart problems.) Dr. Mirza came highly recommended when I began a search for a new PCP in late spring. DAD LOVES DR. MIRZA, whom Dad began seeing in July. Dr. Mirza agreed with the former PCP's recommendation of Ozempic because Dad has had great difficulty managing his blood sugar levels particularly the past year or so--diet, taking his meds, etc. There were definite trade-offs to be considered with a person of Dad's age and treatment approaches. After each of Dad's three appointments so far with Dr. Mirza, Dad has commented how comfortable he feels with Dr. Mirza, and complimented Dr. Mirza on his knowledge and communication style. Dad also appreciates Dr. Mirza's "calming presence." Just two weeks ago, Dad even proudly introduced Dr. Mirza to my Mom, who coincidentally Dad bumped into right outside my Mom's hospital room, when Dr. Mirza was covering at Community North that weekend. Dad brought Dr. Mirza right into Mom's room to introduce "his bride of 68 years." Dad was so proud Mom got to meet Dr. Mirza. Dr. Mirza was wonderful interacting with Mom too. A lot has been going on with the health of both my Dad and Mom, who came to live near me over 5 years ago from Georgia. My brother, who wrote this review, lives in Las Vegas 1700 miles away from us here in Indianapolis. Fortunately, I was also in my Mom's hospital room when my Dad bumped into Dr. Mirza. It meant a lot to me to be able to apologize directly to Dr. Mirza for this incorrect and unflattering review of him posted by my brother. Dr. Mirza was not yet aware of it Not surprising, he was a total class act in how he handled the situation and responded to my apology.
