Patient
My 80-yr old mother was hospitalized for a week and a half at Methodist Southlake prompted by abnormally acute seizure activity and a dangerously low heart rate. After 48 hrs of tests, scans, and diagnosis, she received a pacemaker implant to accelerate her heart rate. A very quick and successful procedure by the cardiac electrophysiologist and support team brought her heart rate up to normal levels. Although being bed-ridden for several days left her extremely weak, she was tended, cared-for, and strengthened by an impressive staff of nurses and PT therapists over the course of the week following her procedure. Every day I visited her, she was being attentively cared-for and monitored by her RN and CNA professionals. They were intentional in their communication to me regarding her condition and status and actually called my personal cell phone with updates whenever I was unable to visit for a day. And to further elevate the experience, my mom said the food was terrific! I really can't say enough about our experience at Methodist Southlake. The level of care exceeded my expectations and was notably superior to experiences with my Father and Step-Father who both have had extended stays recently at other area hospitals. I will request that my parents be taken to Methodist Southlake to receive hospital care in the future. I will do the same for myself or my wife if the occasion unexpectedly presents itself. Please extend my gratitude to all.
