Mark Dixon, D.O., graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at St. Louis University before pursuing a fellowship in cardiology at the Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center. During his fellowship, the field of electrophysiology was in its infancy and cardiac ablations and the placement of defibrillators were just beginning to be performed. Dr. Dixon completed a fellowship in electrophysiology at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Recently, Dr. Dixon and his colleague Sandeep Sehgal, M.D., became the only physicians in Northern Indiana to offer a left atrial appendage implant to patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, which can reduce the risk of stroke.

I appreciate Dr.Dixon tremendously. He performed an ablation on my husband, Jed Nolan over a 15 years ago, Jed passed away ten years ago , due to leukemia. I have always had great care at La Porte Hospital. This last stay was 9 days. Six of those in ICU.The doctors, nurses, CNAs and the folks that kept the room in order were all extraordinary in the performance of their duties.
