I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr. Sheng and his team. After being bounced from specialist to specialist for over 2 1/2 years, I found myself overwhelmed, in chronic pain, and nearly scheduled for a surgery that my instincts told me wasn't right. From the moment I called the office, I was met with compassion and professionalism. Samra, who first answered my call, went above and beyond to ensure I was able to see Dr. Sheng himself, and I am forever grateful she did.
When one hospital tells you you're not a candidate for surgery, and another insists weeks later that it's your "only option," the confusion and emotional toll are immense. What I found in Dr. Sheng was the complete opposite of what I had experienced before: he listened--truly listened--to my symptoms, took the time to carefully evaluate my history, and explained everything in a way that was thorough, educational, and compassionate.
Instead of being rushed or dismissed, I left his office in tears--tears of relief, gratitude, and yes, some anger at the thought that I had nearly undergone an unnecessary surgery that would have made things worse. For the first time in years, I felt seen, heard, and understood. Most importantly, I finally had real answers and a plan of action that made sense.
After countless tests, labs, and discouraging encounters with doctors who brushed me aside, it feels like a heavy weight has been lifted. Dr. Sheng is not only an exceptional surgeon but also a rare kind of physician who genuinely cares about his patients and their outcomes. His staff, especially Samra, matched that same level of compassion and dedication every step of the way.
Finding Dr. Sheng has truly been life-changing. If I could give more than five stars, I would! I'm be forever grateful.

After witnessing Dr. Sheng's remarkable work, I firmly believe he should be globally recognized, especially in today's medical industry. I've personally seen my friend suffer from chronic pain and sporadic symptoms. She spent countless nights in the ER, bouncing from specialist to specialist without any answers. Even scheduled for a neck surgery in 2 weeks, which turns out would be ineffective and potentially worsening her condition in the long run. She prayed fervently for answers, questioning whether she was a hypochondriac or if this was all psychosomatic.
Throughout her life, she had been healthy, never seeing a regular PCP. She loved her career, went on trips, and was known for her contagious bubbly and outgoing personality. However, years of chronic debilitating pain have transformed her life. She now spends 4 hours a night icing and heating & multiple sleepless nights due to the pain.
She didn't recognize herself or her body, and I felt helpless for her. Her quality of life had deteriorated significantly, and she rarely smiled anymore. However, her gut instinct told her that the surgery she was about to undergo didn't feel right.
To address this concern, she underwent a series of tests, including 6 MRIs, 2 EMGs, 2 epidurals, CT scans, over 200 labs, 2 RFA procedures, months of physical therapy, 7 different muscle relaxants, 2500mg of gabapentin, opioid pain meds that are typically prescribed only for cancer patients, ketamine infusions due to her desperation, & unnecessary x-rays. It's no wonder she was gradually worsening, with new symptoms appearing every month. I witnessed traumatizing moments, such as a recent episode when her migraine was so severe that she cried, hyperventilated, slurred her speech, and clutched her throbbing eye. I feared she might be having an aneurysm or the worst panic attack.
Frustrated, I began researching potential causes of her symptoms because she detested the ERs (I tried to take her), & I couldn't blame her. After 2.5years of frequent ER visits, I realized that the doctors could only manage her symptoms, but that approach had never been effective.
After many visits, she finally understood that the ER had protocols to follow, and her symptoms would not be managed or alleviated by visiting the ER.
I've witnessed her relentless battle since she was 35, now 40, advocating for herself and searching for answers while clinging to life. She devoured every book, educating herself on her own labs and symptoms, much like someone on TV trying to solve a murder case. Her living room floor was littered with tests and labs, as she meticulously dissected each symptom, trying to find any connection. With weeks away from her surgery, she and her friend stumbled upon TOS and Dr. Sheng. It was a long shot, as not many specialize in TOS near her. In the waiting room, she was a nervous wreck, frantically reviewing her notes and symptoms, hanging on to what little hope she had.
Then, a miracle happened. She was seen by Dr. George Sheng--a compassionate, knowledgeable physician, specialist, and surgeon. It's rare, especially in today's world, to finally feel heard, seen, properly diagnosed, and treated with the utmost care and thoroughness from the beginning.
To all the other doctors and specialists who perform unnecessary surgeries that worsen the patient's condition, take away their quality of life, prescribe painkillers to mask pain but make them worse, I genuinely don't know how you sleep at night.
She had no idea or hope that she would be met with such care, compassion, and consideration.
To Dr. Sheng and Samra, I know you receive countless "thank yous" and reviews of gratitude, but you genuinely saved my friend's life. I'm so grateful that you not only provided her with this experience but also an actual diagnosis that makes complete sense.
For the first time in years, she, her friends, and family finally feel relief and at peace, knowing that she is in good hands from now on. Thank you for being her much-needed blessing.
