Anas Safadi MD FACC, FSCAI, ABVM

I was scheduled a visit with this Cardiologist, Anas Safadi, to evaluate a echocardiogram result. This was the best experience of my life for a doctor's office visit. Everyone was top notch in how they handled me, from the Office Manager, to an Intern, to the Doctor himself. What a great team! They informed me as to what was found and answered all of my questions. I feel that I remain in great hands for any future visits.

My husband went to see him in December 2023 because his cardiologist retired, Dr Safdi did not listen to his heart, he walked in and said you need to loose weight, I'm putting you on mounjaro, 2.5mg. End of visit! In January we went back for follow up, mounjaro didn't work but it did make him sick with stomach pain and diarrhea, no wt lose, again he did not listen to his heart but raised the dose to 5mg, again, same symptoms no wt lose. The 3rd visit was the same exact visit, 3 minutes in and out with a 7mg script. Our medicare wellness appointment with our PC was due, so we went, the Dr listened to his heart and said your heart is racing, you need to tell cardiologist to put you on a 48 hr monitor and quit taking the garbage wt lose! We went to Dr Safadi, he walked in put the stethoscope to my husband's chest, then proceeded to walk by and sit down, the stethoscope ear parts were around his neck! Not in his ears, he said we'll raise your dose to 10mg!! That's when I blew and said our PC said his heart is racing and he needs a 48 hr monitor, he says oh, ok and writes a script for a monitor! NEVER LISTENED TO HIS HEART! Did I mention this guy is a CARDIOLOGIST! WE HAD THE MONITOR DONE, THIS WAS IN APRIL, WE GOT THE RESULTS ON MY CHARTS, HE WAS IN 100% AFIB. WE IMMEDIATELY went to another cardiologist and he had to take him in and shock his heart, mounjaro causes afib!! Dr safadi still HAS NOT CALLED WITH THOSE RESULTS!!

This doctor treated my husband for blood clots in his lungs a couple of years ago. Three months ago he scheduled an appointment because he has been having heart issues and the soonest they could see him was July. Three days before his appointment they call him and tell him that they have cancelled his appointment because they have 'overbooked' and can't get him in until October. They then told him that he is considered a new patient because he hasn't been there in over a year. I don't get it. This was his doctor and he knows his history. How do you tell someone experiencing heart issues 'we've cancelled your appointment that is in three days and can't see you until October'???? My husband asked if they could at least just schedule the test so he can know he doesn't have the clots and they said they couldn't do that. How absolutely awful.

Due to my experience, would never recommend this Doctor. I was told an angiogram was necessary for my legs and carotid artery. After a second opinion at Northwestern, it was determined that these procedures were not necessary. Very Upsetting......

He is amazing! He is focused on your needs individually and how to treat you. He saved my husband's life.
