Lutheran Hospital

Went in for a routine inguinal hernia surgery. Everything went Smoothly. Absolutely everyone from check in to the surgical team. We're very professional and understanding and listened to my concerns. Dr Brian Stephens was absolutely wonderful. I imagine you couldn't ask for anything better than a routine surgery, going routinely. This was the 9th surgery of my lifetime, and one of the smoothest surgeries out of all of them. Therefore I would recommend your surgical needs to Dr Stevens and his Lutheran Health Network team.

Birth Place Lutheran Review- my care was absolutely amazing! I did not feel like another mom coming in for a C-section I felt like family! Starting off with the delivery nurses Mandy and Maria they were outstanding. They were loving, caring, understanding, even though this was my 3rd child they made sure I understood everything like I was a first time mama. The rest of the care team consisted of Autumn and a couple other nurses that I can't spell they name lol sorry! But lord I loved them all!! They all did great! My OB Dr Krizmanich was also amazing I am sad that I did not know off her when I first moved here and had my 2nd! The only down fall of our experience was Lutherans cafeteria they would deliver our food cold and take up 3hours to deliver that is just crazy to me! But again the nurses where there to save the day specially Autum when my breakfast took 3hrs to get there and was the wrong stuff (not what I ordered) I lost it and began crying (hormones I am sorry!!) she went out of her way to personally reach out and go grab me the correct items for me to eat! She was heaven sent! Again would totally deliver here again just for the car I had from their nurses team!

I was pleased with my treatment at your facility. The check in girls were very polite and kind. The nurses in the surgery center were compassionate and did not force me to do anything I felt i couldn't do. All was good! I'm healing well but I'm glad it's done!

My surgeon was excellent and the nursing staff was very good. But Lutheran Endoscopy is a ZOO! They are running so many people through there you get NO privacy. You are crammed in with a curtain between you in cubicles that provide no sound deading. I heard everything about the patient in the next "cube" and the nurse who was checking him in really needs to learn voice control. Gratefully, my nurse was aware of the lack of privacy and kept her voice low. It was so bad, she often had to repeat herself because the next cube was so loud. After my procedure, my surgeon reviewed everything with my husband and I was sent home with my "patient discharge summary" ONLY it wasn't mine. It was another patient's, along with all the meds and history. This is what happens when you treat medicine like fast-food. VERY disappointed in Lutheran. Oh, BTW, I called records and told them what had happened and that I wanted my records sent to my PCP. She told me I would have to come in and fill out paperwork to get that done. That was paperwork I had already completed so I'm wondering -who got my test results. Hmmmm. Think I should just reach out to the patient who's medical records were wrongly given to me. Get it together, Lutheran. Parkview is coming for you.

My visit to Lutheran Hospital was unexpected and very rewarding. I was in an automobile accident (total loss). I broke 6 ribs and injured my left shoulder. I was transported by ambulance to Marion General Hospital, which, after assessment, sent me by ambulance to the Trauma Unit at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. There, I was treated with expert care and consideration. I would like to lift up 4 caregivers at Lutheran who enabled my care and recovery: First, my main nurse was Jordan Sisco, who made a real difference in my several-day stay. An additional RN for 1 day was Arianna, who continued Jordan's care seamlessly. Finally, an assistant nurse, LPN Emily, who is a nursing student, was in and out many times, when the 2 RNs were out, to follow up on my needs. The Nurse Practitioner who handled my case was excellent. (Forgive me. I do not have her name.) In short, although I had never been a patient at Lutheran before, I was extremely pleased with my stay there and would return to Lutheran in a heartbeat if the need arose.
