I'm very pleased with Dr. Weirick and the care I have received from him so far. He's very thorough and has a great bedside manner... definitely not trading him for another cardiologist!!

I had a heart catherization done by Dr Weirick. While still in his scrubs from doing the cath, he came into my room to talk to my family. He proceeded to draw a diagram of my heart showing defects and told my family that I had a 90 day window to get an aortic valve replaced - that he was NOT the guy to do this. I was somewhat medicated so I waited a few days to phone his office to find out what my next step should be. Would he suggest a surgeon? My insurance company? I talked to his nurse who said that either Dr. Weirick or his PA would phone me back later that day. Two days later, I call again. No call back yet. I call again - No return calls. 10 days go by (while I am panicking - 90 days are counting down) before I finally get a person to answer me. "Oh yes, Dr. Weirick changed his mind and decided to just give you medication.!!! Don't get me wrong, I much prefer this answer but WHY would he change so night and day?? Who tells a family that their person needs to have their chest "cracked open"??? Come to find out, the same day he told us about the surgery he dictated a report saying medication. What kind of doctor, let alone human being allows someone to believe the worst knowing they changed so drastically? Which result do I believe? Surely can't trust him!!!! I am going to Cleveland Clinic for the REAL answer. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHYSICIAN

Dr Weirick has no regard for his patients. During my aortic valve replacement 3 month post op appointment (May of 2019) we corrected him at least 3 times that I was 3 months post op, not 6 months. This lasted the entire appointment. He appears to work off of a Check list on his pc. Once that is complete, he is done, regardless if you have questions, concerns, pains, need scripts or don't understand this new life post op. He flip flopped on whether or not I would be on beta blockers for life, offering no opinion and leaving the decision in our incapable hands. He tried to end the appointment about 8 min in stating "I have already spent 30 min with you. I don't have time for your questions...you should have gotten them answered by someone else!!" He opened the door to the room attempting to leave for over half of the entire 18 min visit, despite it violating HIPPA. He refused to offer any sort of restrictions for my labor intensive job stating "6 months is more than enough time to be off work. You need to return to your job with no restrictions!!" After being corrected AGAIN that we were 3 months post op, he stayed with his initial "no restrictions" for work statement. (His "no restrictions" caused tissue damage my first week back). While leaving the room, over his shoulder he indicated we need to schedule several follow up appointments and asked if anyone had mentioned to us about antibiotics for surgeries and dental work. I have come to expect this type of lame service when it comes to "would you like fries with that?" But for a doctor to show so little care or regard for someone whose life has just drastically changed (restrictions, blood thinners, antibiotics, INR checks, vitamin K warnings, and a myriad of other changes) is mind boggling. We paid about $200 cash, and other than being treated a little worse than an ATM, I resent the lack of service for it and the disdain we were shown. His attitude makes me nervous for the senior citizens that rely on him. The saddest revelation has to be that the number of baby boomers requiring his "service" means that he will (most likely) not change his service practices since he can afford to lose patients because of poor service. Let the discriminating, health conscious consumer beware!!!

Dr. Weirick did a heart cath, 2 stents, angioplasty and implanted a pacemaker in my husband on 9/29. No problems. Perhaps Cindy Nelson should have gone to the Cleveland Clinic in the first place. His own cardio is Dr. Mathes and Dr. Mehta also tended to him. They were all very attentive.
