Two months ago I went by ambulance to EGH with severe abdominal pain 10 out of 10. I'm a 70 year old man retired business owner. They took me two a room . The first thing they did was ger my insurance information. I than laid there in pain for approximately 45 minutes before they came back in. I pleaded for help they finally shut the door. After an hour or so they had some one from radiology come in and take an x-ray. I was another 30 minutes I still pleated for help. Finally they gave me a Tylenol. To keep this short the staff had no companion or understanding. I left by ambulance so I didn't have my wallet. I needed a ride home. The nurses add told me they have pass for a ride home with Uber. When I asked the desk check out woman. She was very rude. And said I'll give this to you but you better never ask again, Let this be a lesson to you to bring you wallet. She was so condensing. I was just glad to get out if there. The sad part was there were not many people in the emergency room. Infact there were none in the waiting room. I will one thanks to the little Mexican aid who actually helped me with pillow and warm blankets. She was a sweetheart. EGH please take personal inventory of your practitioners.

I just gave birth to a baby less than two weeks ago. The lady came in to do our birth certificate and when she brought us the form back, she had us check to make sure everything was correct and I told her that my Babies's middle name was incorrect on the form And to have it changed and she told me that it would be fine and that everything will come out correctly. I received my Social Security card and my birth certificate and let me tell you it is absolutely wrong so guess who has to pay the fee to now have that changed, ME!!! So make sure if you are going to this hospital and you have the lady doing your birth certificate that she doesn't convince you that everything will be fine because it won't make her physically leave the room and go and make that correction on paper before you sign anything! Very annoyed parent right here, it is not very cool or polite or professional what she did she literally lied to our faces so she didn't have to turn around and go back and redo her work. That's what we call laziness

Several of the RN nurses were wonderful. The preceptors bedside manners are beyond horrible. After I got yelled at last night by a preceptor, asking if someone could help me to unplug my cords so I could go to the bathroom and turn down the temp of 76 in my room. I was told that I'm independent and could walk. Wow! I had not even seen my nurse in over 2 hours of a new nurse coming on, again I was yelled at that she's busy. I am there with a partial bowel obstruction. I would not recommend in patient care here. I would absolutely embarrassed to say I worked here. My preceptor wouldn't even write her name down on the board in my in patient room. The doctors have been great! They don't give out towels or ask about a shower, changing of sheets on the beds don't happen. I had my IV and heart leads on my chest and I asked for a new gown, I was handed the gown and said "is someone going to help me" why you need help?.

If you're ever refused treatment at the ER please get online and file an EMTALA complaint with the government. The law requries them to offer emergency treatments. We are humans and we have rights. Stay away from this death trap if you value your life!!! Drive to goshen hospital!!!! I showed up with heart attack symptoms and after checking me into the waiting room they crossed my name off the list effectively blocking me from recieving emergency medical treatment (pretty sure there is a law about this...) On 10/9/25 I showed up with very sharp pain in my chest and left arm. Heart attack symptoms. I was literally left in the waiting room for over four hours. They cared more about "which pharmacy I preferred" than they cared about treating me. After more than four hours I said to the receptionist "I know this is a stupid question but did yall forget about me" She then informed me that they crossed my name off the list cause they called my name and I didn't answer. Which is clearly a lie. I was there the whole time concerned for my safety! When they called others names if no one answered they walked the lobby making sure everyone heard them. I sat right next to the receptionist desk to make sure I was seen. Let's not forget this hospital refuses to allow their nurses a healthy work schedule. 12 hour rotating shifts does not give them time for self care such as sleep and rest. These people are overworked and underpaid to the point that the nurse in triage asked me to be still and breath gently for the EKG that wasn't even hooked up to me lol. No fault to the nurse of course. He was extremely polite and professional. I could see he had many tasks to do. I asked and he surely is overworked with 12 hour shifts. He's just overworked and being asked to perform more than a single human is capable of. As long as the health industry continues to ignore the health of it's own our system will continue to decline and we'll continue to see worse and worse health outcomes. I thought hospitals where places of safety where you come for treatment. Not to be written off like yesterdays garbage and abandoned in the waiting room with heart attack symptoms. Stay away from this death trap if you value your life. Drive to Goshen hospital.

I have many conditions that cause me severe pain, even with strong meds at home i constantly show up at the hospital and am treated quickly each time, they have shown so much care and gentleness to me when im there..they are kind and listen to what i tell them They don't ignore me and get the the meds i need which are unfortunately pretty strong, thanks to the nurses and doctors there i dont need to suffer for hours because they treat me correctly and make sure i feel completely fine so im very grateful. Even as a young adult i feel like a little kid being cared for by all the wonderful nurses God bless everyone there
