Dr. Kim is AMAZING. I have never had a doctor so responsive to my son's needs. I highly recommend him, he is kind, listened to all of my concerns and was extremely prompt when I needed something from him.
I have been fighting with this supposed cardiologist for TWO YEARS. My daughter was born CHD, she had to have open heart surgery (9/25/2018) and tho at the time they only had to do a coarctation, we were well informed to keep an eye on the aortic valve, and her left ventricle (she was supposed to be full hypoplastic left heart, however left side was well enough to save). She has been doing normal and fine. Two years ago I questioned vaccinations due to the nature of all the conditions in her heart. He says she's fine to relieve them and that their only concern is her coarctation since she's had surgery on it, that's all he was required to check according to him. I would go home and read the reports about her appointments, which would say the complete opposite of what we were told. When we question him, it's Lurie's bc they're sent back to a board to read the reports, and he doesn't agree. So we move on to my concerns of her belly pain, always tired and even discoloration of the lips. He says well she's a kid it could be anything because if it were her heart it would be leg pain, sends us with a monitor and send us on the way. He says the monitor shows nothing so we go another year with no answers. He monitors her a couple of more times stating that there's no worries. Even though the monitor is catching auto incidents. Our last appointment, last year, we found she was leaking fluid, he said its fine not enough to worry, monitors her, says the monitor didn't pull anything back (the monitor pulled back 18 auto incidents). I complain and still nothing. This year we go in 6/17 and get her normal check up again with the same concerns and this time worse. Now she's to the point anything longer than an hour of exercise (even just walking) and she's sick to her stomach turning blue. He says they would worry if she was leaking over a 2.o in fluid then continues to say shes leaking 2.1 in fluid but he's still not worried. This time I'm irritated calling every where to get a second opinion. But just 4 short months later we need to make sure she's safe for her final live vaccinations, I tell him I don't feel they're safe with the conditions and issues we have been facing. He agrees to set an appointment, does a check up and once again tells me everything is fine and she can get fully vaccinated. By now I'm p.o her heart rate is not rising above a 58, and they fix their report to say 60 as well as a low blood pressure. We get sent home with a holster monitor. I call to get a second opinion, the board of doctors at Lurie's agreed, she needs a bicuspid valve specialist. And I received an email today to absolutely not vaccinate her and she is now exempt. For SIX YEARS he has failed to measure her valve and just kept telling us everything was fine. For TWO years he has avoided my concerns. Do NOT see Dr. PAUL J. KIM because your life will depend on it
