It's the System... Most of us can understand a very skilled practitioner stuck in a really challenging system. That's the situation here. Dr McLain is experienced, smart and compassionate. Her medical expertise is vast. She takes the time to listen, diagnose and treat. She even follows-up, a skill lost in today's medical care! The problem is she's just working in a system that is so broken that I wonder how long it will be before she just walks away. :( No One Deserves To Work In That Stress-Laden Environment!!! Which is a big problem for Northwestern because they desperately need skilled physicians like her. It's one thing to have "a shortage of doctors" (Northwestern's excuse for literally everything nowadays.) It's yet another to have a system so broken that you drive the good doctors that you have out the door!!! Congratulations Northwestern - you've gone from one of the best medical care facilities in the Midwest to burning bridges with doctors, employees and patients. Figure it out, Please! We ALL deserve Better!!! PS And stop making your receptionists collect your money! It's inappropriate and insulting.

I have been going to Dr. McLain for years she is the best. Love her.

Dr Mc Lain is very thorough and progressive in her care. I've been going to Dr Mc Lain for over 20 years. She takes time and listens. I don't like to take medications and she helps me find alternatives first. If I come up with something new for my care, she looks it up right there on her computer and we discuss to decide if it is right for me. Since her group combined with Northwestern, communication with her office has become harder, but her staff does try to work around the not so user friendly Northwestern system.

Dr. Mclain is an excellent physician. Her approach to healthcare is comprehensive care with compassion. She is very thorough, knowledgeable and will work to find answers in complex medical situations. Her staff is always professional and helpful. I've been a patient of Dr. Mclain for several years, I'm fortunate to have her as my internist.

IGNORE previous review that says very difficult to work with and her staff/ a bunch of bahooey- Dr Mclain is the consummate professional who is always up to date on the latest and is always compassionate, eager to listen and takes as much time as you want with her- explaining everything in layman's language. I have gone to her for the past 26 years - she has earned my complete trust
