Although the care my great grandson received while in the NICU was ok( with some exceptions) Almost immediately after he was taken to the morgue, that changed drastically. We were treated VERY poorly. Also some of the momentos and things that were given to the baby were not returned. Even after we were promised that they would be gathered and given to us. My granddaughter was also guilt tripped about her decision concerning organ donation. She had a valid reason for her decision. And had given it much consideration. There was also someone that worked there by the name of Rachel that repeatedly asked to paint our "Beautiful baby boys"fingernails and toenails. She also repeatedly called him , a her.. not by mistake, she knew he was a little boy.Even after we politely told them that we would prefer not to have that done. She even came into the NICU hours before our baby passed away with a bottle of nail polish. Sidenote -the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting.

In short, Carle told me they would help me then dropped me as a patient. The clinic and patient representative team has refused to discuss this with me. Despite not being abusive, I was told they could not help me and to go elsewhere. I am struggling to find a new provider, and have been ran around for six months trying to find a new doctor. I have a rare condition that has high suicide rates if left untreated. Apparently nobody in Illinois or Missouri can help me. Well, they could, but are choosing to not help me. This is effecting both my work and personal life. Carle states they did a physical examination, which never took place. Doctor just went off symptoms. They told me what medications could help. They went over procedures that could be performed, but dropped me as a patient after three appointments. 12/11/2025 update. They tell me to call them. I have called multiple times and nobody will return my calls. I have emailed patient representatives multiple times. They never respond. I have filled out the online form, they never respond. If my PCP cannot find me a doctor soon maybe it's time I become a statistic on those suicide rates.

Absolutely horrible experience! Filthy room. Transferred from another ER to Carle for an ENT that I didn't see even after 17 hrs. Nurse Rochelle who let me know she's had been a nurse for 30yrs failed to reconnect my IV and when questioned by my husband said she didn't do anything wrong. Signed out AMA over 37hrs later with no change or improvement. On call over night resident actual said the pain (that I've been experiencing for over 4 days) meant the antibiotics were working! Will never go back or recommend.

Carle has always been my go to place but I am quite disappointed in the Bone health department (3rd floor by way of blue cloud elevators) not here for an appointment for myself had to bring someone else for their appointment so I've been sitting in the waiting room seeing all things going on. They have now taken two different patients into an exam room yet the room was not once cleaned/wiped down in between patients. Now being in healthcare myself I know this is a huge wrong doing and I am simply posting this in hope the right person will see it and this department will get reviewed for patient well being and safety. I almost want to walk back and get the person I brought here worried that their room too wasn't properly sanitized between patients. Hope this makes it to the appropriate person for review!!!!

All the nurses, receptionist, security are all VERY RUDE AND MISERABLE. In general every single employee is horrible. They are all very rude, just because we are college students patients get treated poorly. We were waiting and the nurse came to yell at us for talking and quote on quote told us "this isn't a club for you guys to be talking". Telling us to leave our fractured friend unattended in the waiting room. Rather take the pain than come back to this WAY BELOW AVERAGE hospital.
