Dr. Geiss most likely saved my life 36 years ago. In 1983 I went to him to repair an Atrial Septal defect. I was 39 years old at the time with two small children with my wife. He found not only one but two holes in my heart. My life expectancy would have been dire with those conditions. He successfully performed the surgery and I've had a good and long life because of him. My entire family greatly appreciates what he did for us.
my daughter was born with AVSD and Tetralogy of Fallot. Dr. Geiss performed open heart surgery at 3 months and saved her life! She is 14 years old and just had her first cardiac cath to get a better view of how her heart is functioning. Her cardiologist said her heart looked great. We now live in Florida and her doctors are amazed at the before and after images. Thank you Dr. Geiss for all you do!!!!!!!!
Dr. Geiss is more than a HIGHLY skilled heart surgeon. He's a real person. When I woke up from surgery at 2 AM, Dr. Geiss was there and stayed for 2 hours. I wasn't in trouble. He just wanted to see how I was and make sure I was OK. He did what other surgeons said could not be done, he did exactly what he said he would do, and the result was exactly what he said it would be. I was out walking and taking calls and emails 2 weeks later, I was back to work from home 1 month later, in rehab 6 weeks later, and travelling alone by air to see clients 2 months later. And I felt terrific. Never felt alone, by the way. Dr. Geiss has a terrific caring medical team to support him and a terrific staff to be sure that patients never get lost in the shuffle. His kindness is contagious. And Genesis Hospital is the place to be. I (almost) didn't want to leave! (But I did). Day and night they were there, checking, caring. If you ever need heart surgery, and I sincerely hope you don't, do yourself a favor and before you decide, make it a point to see Dr. Geiss. You won't regret it. Thank you, Dr. Geiss, and bless you.
