Dr. Hersh is a no nonsense man. He tells you the truth regardless of how it makes you feel. When I went to see him for testing after an episode of SVT. He literally said a little less eating and a little more exercising would do me good! I was so chagrined by his bluntness,. I walked out of his office and 7 months later I am 73lbs lighter and run 6 minute miles at age 53. It's been 4 years since I have seen him and I still hear that comment from time to time running around my head.. It actually makes me laugh now. Dr. Hersh's "unkindness" motivated me like no other! He's not for everyone! But, if you're looking to live longer, take ownership of bad behaviors, he's DEFINITELY your guy! That one sentence that brought me to tears turned my life around! I am forever thankful to this man!

I came to get an EKG regarding my medications I take ordered by my psychiatrist. He made several rude comments about the supposed 'non necessity of me getting an EKG' and couldn't understand why my Dr ordered these tests. I explained several times the symptoms I was feeling, and Hersh was only focused on the fact that I had supposedly not lost weight since my acl surgery in 2018, which is a lie. He then continued to comment on my weight, telling me I need to make extreme changes to my lifestyle in order to no longer be obese. He even attached a "healthy lifestyle" information sheet to the end of my session notes, and this was after me telling him I go for walks everyday, and go to the gym regularly.
He was not even concerned about the reason I had come to him in the first place, and I left extremely embarrassed and very uncomfortable. Just be warned!

After having a major heart attack I choose Dr hersh at random because I had no regular dr. and at first I found him to be a little too straightforward, and very strong minded, however his approach and his strength worked , to get me to stop smoking and to be healthier. Every time I call the office the phone hangs up. I have been trying to reach the office all week. My insurance company needs paperwork from them and they're so disorganized. They sure know how to keep a heartbeat going by agitating their patients and not responding to them!!!
