Silver Cross Hospital

Today was my first experience with Silver Cross. Every person I came into contact with was kind and caring. Dr. Kaz, Dr. Lee, Wendy, Lisa, Sarah, Barbara, Becky, Maddie, and LaShonda were all rockstars. Beautiful facility and I felt so safe in their care. They laughed with me and kept me feeling great about the experience. 10/10, if I had another uterus I would get it taken out here also!

We completed all tests and X-rays within an hour in the emergency, but were then told the wait to see a doctor could be up to five hours. This was surprising, especially compared to hospitals in less developed countries where emergency wait times are often under 30 minutes. It's concerning to see what seems like understaffing at the expense of patient care. We hope this isn't the norm across all hospitals, and that others prioritize faster, more responsive treatment.

I have to say my wife. Had breathing Issues. She was admitted into E room Quickly, The ER nurses were awesome. The breathing treatment team was so Impressive to me they started iv antibiotics. Her breathing treatment continued the entire time , nurse Elly I was amazed at how good the nurse are , the imaging team caught double ammonia rite away they moved her to icu the icu team was awesome . They all saved her life , pullmaoligist was great Thankyou silver cross hospital Er team You guys saved her life!

I brought my 11-month-old son to Silver Cross around 1:30am due to signs of respiratory distress, including retractions. Upon arrival, he was given Tylenol for a low-grade fever, had his oxygen checked, and was swabbed. We were told we could wait in our car to avoid exposing him to additional germs. At 5:00am, I checked in and was told we were next to be seen. We woke our baby and brought him back inside, only to wait another hour until mid-level providers began seeing patients. We understood the ER was busy, but it was incredibly frustrating to watch every other patient be taken back ahead of us. When I asked the nurse for clarification, I was simply told, "it doesn't work that way." It was hard to accept that my infant--who had tested positive for RSV and had been struggling to breathe at home--was considered less urgent than every other case. At 7:20am, we were finally taken to a room and seen by a doctor, who confirmed the RSV diagnosis (results that had been available for hours). Once we were in a room, the nurses and doctor were phenomenal and compassionate. Unfortunately, the overall ER experience leading up to that point was extremely disappointing.

My husband had 3 scans done in the imaging dept today. The whole staff was very kind and helpful, but the person who stood out for exemplary helpfulness was Elizabeth, who went out of her way to fit all his scans in consecutively so we wouldn't have to make another trip back. This was extremely helpful for me.
