Because I'm not the average age demographic for cardiology visits I was told I was too young to be having symptoms. The nurse practitioner prescribed low blood pressure meds because my blood pressure was dropping to 70/40 and the doctor asked why I was prescribed medications to raise my blood pressure. Low blood pressure is 90/60 or lower. Absolutely ridiculous they don't think this is a problem. I have dizziness with migraines, nausea, seeing spots upon standing, excessive sweating, heart rate 120 to 150 for several hours. I was told this was not a big deal because of my age. When I told them my PCP said to go to the ER only then did cardiology tell me to go to the ER. So is it a big deal or not? Do they even know? They refused to do any repeat or further testing and told me to go to a dizziness clinic with no other information provided including any contact info for dizziness clinic.

Dr. Retzer is my cardiologist and while under her care, I have received the best treatment possible. I had a situation today that needed to be fixed before I went out of town and her nurse, Tiffany went out of her way to accommodate me and take care of my needs. I highly recommend Dr Retzer And her staff !!!

Terrible post surgery experience. Frustrating and inept. 8 days post op, I had a follow up visit in the office. The visit was with her nurse. the only checks done were blood pressure, heart rate, and listening to me breathe. We discussed rehab and back to work timeline- how to get back to 100% safely. The nurse gave a very conservative mark to hit over 7 days, and said I was to be contacted by cardiac rehab. 2 days later, via the app, the nurse messaged me and said "go back to work in 5 days". I asked to show the doctor the physical requirements of my job, but either the nurse or doctor was completely uninterested. I asked for diagnostic tests to verify the surgery had improved my situation and that I could handle the rigors post heart attack, and they wanted nothing to do with it. just "go back to work monday, Good luck" I enlisted the help of an advocate service partnered with my company, and made a call to the office where I asked clearly and multiple times for a series of benchmarks to hit to return to 100% in time for work- 4 days away at that point. The nurse absolutely refused to give me any benchmarks, and her only advice was literally "do you remember what you felt like having the heart attack? if you feel those symptoms, stop". When i mentioned cardiac rehab, I was told the doctor didnt think i needed it (although she had not seen me since the procedure and had not looked at the excessive physical requirements for my job). My advocate was able to get them to prescribe a bare bones base level treadmill stress test, so i guess I am lucky there. I have never run across a doctor so unwilling to listen to a patients concern. It took until the 3 way call with the advocate for them finally to answer where the stents were placed. 1 extra bit that may factor in. When I provided her office with the paperwork for my short term disability, the lady at the desk asked who it was. I gave her the name, and her reply was "oooohhhh... I am sorry". Perhaps her hesitation to actually provide after care stemmed from her dislike of my short term insurance company?
