I'm very comfortable with Dr. Plofsky.
He shouldn't be a doctor . He has no empathy ,sympathy or feelings whatsoever. I went there for my physical for the first time and had a horrible experience . He acts so robotic , didn't knock when came back after instructing me to change. He wasn't talking much interest in me .. wasn't concerned about my problems much I thought he might be like that and it it's ok but as soon as he returned to his room. He was so cheerful and I heard him say "so let's continue " (his conversation with other doctors ). Really bad experience. And I really feel bad writing this , but it is the truth . Doctors should be more careful and emphatic with each and every patient considering that we pay a lot of money for every visit.. I get it they see a lot of patients everyday so it might get boring for them but isn't it there job to not feel bored and have compassion and care for their patients.
I am surprised by the negative reviews, which all seem to reflect on Dr. Plofsky's personality (soft skills) rather than medical skills. As a family medicine physician his medical skills are excellent. His ability to identify issues and be spot-on are unsurpassed. We have been flying to see him, and only him, even when we lived abroad and now out of state. I do not waste my time with other family doctors in my plan anymore. This doctor, as a doctor, is the best. Have a cup of coffee and socialize with your neighbor and come to Dr. Plofsky to receive timely diagnosis and treatments.
I realize not every doctor can be warm and fuzzy and that's fine. After all that's what friends are for, right? As long as the doctor knows what he's doing and does it well, that's what matters. Dr Plofsky and I had a lovely visit for my physical, I wasn't expecting hugs, I was expecting a doctor visit, brief, to the point. I realize everyone expects/needs something different, but 1 star because he isn't warm and fuzzy is just plain silly. End note- when my mom had her brain surgery, the chief neurosurgeon at evanston hospital came to talk to us with his pants zipper open. So he doesn't sweat the small stuff-who cares. He put my mom back together and that's what matters!
