About Dr. Abdallah Karam MD

We are proud to be one of the few independent (not owned by a hospital or other entities) primary care offices left in the northwest suburbs and I feel truly blessed to be a part of a dynamic team that combines a small-town doctor's office tradition with a 21st century information technology. It is my belief that modern medicine must take into account an individual's physical, mental and social conditions in order to effectively promote wellness, focus on preventing disease and treating illnesses. A. Karam, MD

Dr Karam is my personal doctor for some many years in the beginning he was one of the best physicians I've ever been associated with he listened intensely and talks with ease and knowledge about your conditions as time will run and he became the private doctor not available to all but only those who paid $3000 annual fee he became more and more and less concerned with my health issues and more that of my wife's who is also his patient I also have my son with his thing I am paying $9000 a year for the coverage for the three of us this year I don't believe the doctor has my best interest at heart he began to make decisions regarding my healthcare with my wife and him only present and me nowhere in the room when a decision was made to change my prescription he provided my wife A letter concerning my health issues without ever presenting this to me my wife has used this to bring up a lawsuit I hope he knows what he has done and I don't really think that's what the letter was intended to do but being I don't have a copy I cannot say and I will let the legal team take care of this unless I receive a copy of his letter today by noon Sunday the 16th what I'm asking is a simple request to share a letter you shared with my wife regarding my health without notifying me I am due a copy of this letter and if I don't I will file a complaint and a lawsuit with HIPAA

I was a loyal patient of this office for seven years. I respected and trusted my physician deeply--not only as a doctor but as someone I considered a friend and advisor when it came to my personal well-being and medical care. I also extended that trust to the staff at this office. Unfortunately, that trust was shattered. Last year, the office transitioned to a concierge model with a hefty $3,000 annual fee to remain under his care. While I understood the shift, it was financially out of reach for me. I did see him one final time to get surgical clearance, at which point I was told it would still be okay to reach out for minor prescription adjustments, even if I wasn't part of the new model. Fast forward to six months later--there was a small issue with my prescription. I reached out through the portal and waited two days with no response. So I called. That's when I was met with a cold and condescending reminder from Lisa that, as of March 2025, the doctor was no longer accepting any communication or care requests from patients outside the new practice. Not only did she say this with zero empathy, but she acted as though I should have known--as if I was out of line for even asking. Let me be clear: I was never informed that communication would be completely cut off after six months. When I last saw the doctor, I was explicitly told minor things like prescription adjustments would still be honored. But instead of simply replying through the portal with a message like, "Hey, thanks for reaching out, but unfortunately the doctor is no longer handling requests outside the practice," they chose to completely ignore me. Ghosted me. As if I didn't exist after seven years of loyalty and trust. This office showed their true colors. When you're paying and useful, they're all smiles and kindness. But the second that dynamic shifts, you're disposable. No compassion. No professionalism. Just silence and dismissal. I understand that medical practices evolve--but the way this office handled the transition was nothing short of disgraceful. You don't treat long-term patients like this. It's shameful. If you're considering joining this practice, tread very carefully. The people in this office will be warm and welcoming while you're paying the price of admission, but when it's time to part ways, expect to be treated like garbage. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Absolute atrocity.

He takes the time to listen to his clients' issues and carefully explains the plan of treatment/action. He has a great staff who is efficient, caring and very responsive.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Karam for around 5 years now. I never even wanted a primary care dr. until my husband told me how much he liked him, so I decided to go to him too. He really listens and he is personable. He has a way about telling you something you don't want to really hear, like you need to lose a few pounds, without making you feel bad about it. He also talks in detail about possible solutions that would work within your lifestyle. I've never really felt compelled to write a review about a doctor, but he really is that great!!!
