Kootenai Clinic General Surgery

From the time I was called to schedule my surgery time and through check in and surgery prep, everyone was professional and helpful and clear about what I needed to do and what to expect. Surgery prep went well and I was kept comfortable and informed about what was next. The staff were all great and from wheeling me into surgery and throughout recovery they all kept me informed about what to expect and what was next. They tried to make me comfortable and explained why I was was hurting. I was kept overnight and taken to a place where I was attended to all night. Overall it was a good experience.

Well my experience was something different from having diverticulitis which was something different and I can understand that having nursing shortage which I can understand completely. Now I have heard a lot of talking about what was going on with me and what was going to happen and I think about everything and it made me think about that movie COOL Hand Luke! What we have here is a failure to communicate because everyone should know on what everyone else is doing and get there Ducks all in row with all do respect.

I was a newbie to the Kootenai Heart Clinic, but had a nice time, chatting easily with the cardiologist Dr. MP Sanchez, his assistant, and a few ladies in reception and finance. I suspect many who arrive are frightened and worried (I was), and really need the human touch of friendship. Thankfully the Heart Clinic is a human-first culture. I have a PhD Biology and MBA and work in business consulting. I instinctively critique every business I walk into. But I have no complaints. Dr. Sanchez took his time: full med history, thorough examination, detailed discussion and diagnosis. As a patient, I seek thoroughness -- and fear that my issues can get brushed aside. They were not. Just old-fashioned good patient-first medicine. (I was lucky: deemed 100% healthy; owing to a false positive from a misread ECG).

I recently found myself a patient at the Kooteney Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. I had some fractured ribs and a neo and hemothorax which required a chest tube. It was a patient on two self where the nursing care was outstanding. All of my nurses and ancillary personnel were compassionate, professional, and attentive. I am recently retired from my 50 year career as a registered nurse and could not have been happier with the care I received on two south at the Kooteney Medical Center.

I honestly wish I could give you all 100 stars. I can not thank you all enough for your help and hospitality. The care i received before and after surgery was so calming and down to either. I laughed so much. We absolutely loved you all. I hope everyone has the pleasure to meet Sarah. Shes freaking amazing! Thank you, everyone, for getting me and my health where it needs to be.
