Straub Benioff Medical Center - Kapolei Clinic & Urgent Care

Garbage place. Rude staff, equipment has shadowing and hasn't been updated. ONE single OB Kawello who cancelled four times last minute prenatal care appointments. Excuse was had another person in labor so she pushed her OB patients back. There is no backup provider to see you as traditional standard practice is and should be. Front desk staff, back staff, medical assistants all RUDE. No wonder the reviews are so poor! Competent OB care in Hawaii is hard to find, but this place is not where you want to receive care...trust me. They can't even get insurance correct. They don't know the difference between insurance types either. I don't recommend this place. Run.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This isn't about how long I waited--though waiting three hours to be seen was already frustrating. The real issue was how condescending and dismissive the doctor was once she finally entered the room. As a health professional myself, working with clients as a nutritionist and personal trainer, I know the importance of showing respect to people dealing with health concerns. Instead, this doctor raised her eyebrows at me multiple times and treated me as if I were incompetent. To make matters worse, she abruptly ended the visit mid-conversation by walking out of the room without properly closing our appointment. It's also disappointing to see doctors who don't appear to prioritize their own health. In my opinion, someone who doesn't take care of themselves should not be in a position to give health advice. The entire experience left me feeling disrespected and unheard.

They should close earlier. Advertising that you are open until 8pm, but not taking patients because testing has closed down for the night? I arrived at 7:30 after checking online to see it was still open until 8pm. I was not anticipating any tests. How does one test for chest congestion? I just wanted a doctor to listen to my chest. We were told by the "open" clinic receptionist to go to the emergency room if it could not wait until tomorrow. How exactly does a receptionist know if a patient needs testing or not? Very sketchy and unprofessional. During open hours you should let the patient see the doctor and then let the doctor decide whether the patient should go to the ER or not, not a receptionist. If you don't want to see patients past a certain hour, then you should close at that certain hour.

If I could give no stars I would. Walked in the urgent care 4 minutes after they opened at 10am and was told it would be a 2 hour wait. Been sitting here for an hour and a half and only one patient ahead of us has been taken back. Front desk not so friendly. No sense of urgency. Not sure what they could possibly be doing in the back since there are NO PATIENTS being taken back.

Second visit to see my new PCP, and thus far very satisfied with the check-in process nd how quick it is. (As well as checking out , if needing to schedule appointments) If your a patient with an active MyChart account it makes things much simpler and takes care of any questionnaires, etc (if needed) beforehand. -- if you dont have one, i highly recommend signing up/registering for one. Staff is welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable. Haven't had any "red flags" concerning to patient care and/or patient-nurse/doctor interaction.
