When my cardiologist left his hospital system and joined WellStar, I did the same and I followed him. Because of his fine work, I changed over the rest of my "team" to WellStar doctors.a half-dozen other doctors over to WellStar as well. Dr K (and God) have seen me through a lot in the past almost 7 years, from a very bad heart attack and over half a dozen other heart diseases and defects, INCLUDING Congestive Heart Failure. The CHF became "promoted" to Advanced Heart Failure when my ejection fraction just kept refusing to climb out of the low 30 percentile. The CHF team has been nothing less than spectacular. They're always there for me, always staying on top of my tests and my meds and my overall well being. I can't imagine a better experience and it is largely their proficiency, thoroughness, and kindness that keeps me feeling positive. Dr. K is a great cardiologist, and the teams he has placed me with are rock stars.

Outstanding care and amazing teamwork. After almost kicking the bucket with congestive heart failure I was tagged to this group for post-hospital care ... I met with a nutritionist, pulmonary and cardiac care specialists and they have a shrink (depression seems to go hand in hand with some illnesses). Their support staff of nurses, PAs, technicians and administrative personnel consists of the best of the best ... they know EVERYTHING about me, my history of addiction, that I dumped Oxy for cannabis for severe chronic pain, they know my Mama, my dogs, my chaotic lifestyle and they genuinely CARE about what happens to me and they don't judge me ... their approach to palliative care is impeccable providing me with the tools I need to stay alive and get back (somewhat) to my pre-illness condition. They are there for any little issue I have, they are responsive within hours when I call with a BP rise, fluid retention, low O2. Quite honestly the BEST medical experience I've had in 63 years and Marie Rivas is the BOMB! I owe my life to these guys. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ... you do have to be referred to them by a primary care physician after being diagnosed with a life threatening illness. I just LOVE the concept of the Comprehensive Care Clinic, having everything under one umbrella ... an idea that can revolutionize post-hospital care.

My brother is an LVAD patient and we had switched to Wellstar because it was closer to where we live than Nashville. We heard good things about Wellstar and the LVAD team. However, that was not the case when it came to my brother. They treated him like a child and were rude to both of us. They told us my brother was non compliant even tho it was there fault on some things. The other things came down to timing and lying nurses. I work in healthcare...I know how nurse think and act. This covid crud didn't help either. My brother will do whatever he is told as long as it is made clear to him what that is. Our experiance with Wellstar was awful. We are now going back to Nashville which is 2 and half hours away from where we live ( Wellstar was only an hour and 30 min away). We wanted to like Wellstar, but some of the doctors and nurses made it impossible to. There were some nurses and one or 2 doctors that were nice, but when it came to my brother, we just felt like they not the best people for him. No one wants to be treated badly by people who are suppose to help him and keep him alive. Note: LVAD-LEFT VENTRICULAR ASSIST DEVICE (basically an artificial heart for the left side)

Don't know why my name isn't showing up but I'm Deborah Wood again. Well, I posted a bad review and have to admit it was partially my bad ... beware when you leave messages be sure to leave them for the specific department .. i.e. nurse staff / pharmacist AND don't expect your caller ID to ID them ... they may not call you from their 0200 number!!! My first call was on a Friday, second on Monday, third on Tuesday I got a return call from an unidentifed number on Wednesday (which I ignored) by today the following Friday I was POed, called 6ish times and finally left a negative review ... the response was within the hour ... that's when I learned of the role my own mistakes were playing in communication. BE SURE YOUR CALL IS ROUTED CORRECTLY ... otherwise outstanding ... and patient care is still their priority.

I hope you never need them, but if you have heart troubles they are some of the best.
