Dr Patel has a great reputation as a surgeon. But I feel he is lacking in empathy. That is a huge problem with a lot of Drs. My 86 year old mother underwent a procedure to improve her quality of life. It's TAVR. During the surgery she had a dissection if the aorta, from the procedure, which caused a stroke. I felt like Dr Patel was very matter of the fact and didn't have empathy for her. Her quality of life is wise. When we had our follow up appt. and I expressed our frustration it was met by unfeeling ears. Now we only deal with our regular cardiologist and we are out of their hair. That's how it feels.
