He is a board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Harvey specializes in Mitral Valve Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Afib, and Aortic Surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Harvey enjoys freshwater fishing and aviation. Dr. Harvey is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.

Dr Harvey did open heart surgery (4 bypasses) on my husband Sam. Sam and I felt comfortable talking with him and asking questions. He was patient and professional with us, as well as personable. He was also this way at both follow-up visits. We would not hesitate to recommend him for anyone who needed OPS.

Dr. Richard Harvey was very caring and professional, but easy to talk with.
He put my mitral mechanical valve in the wrong place and now l have LVOT. He left epicardial leads in my body saying they would stay in the fatty tissue of my abdomen. One made it to my right breast and had to removed by his PA Rich. I am having to have my 3rd mitral valve surgery due to his incompetence. He worked in Gwinnett County GA till he had to go to Macon where heart surgeons go when no one else will take them. Think twice before hand because so many of his patients came in cursing him in Gwinnett because of his bad surgical techniques.
